02' GSXR 1000 + FI's Crash Cage
02' GSXR 1000 + FI's Crash Cage
Does anyone have one of the crash cages from FI for the 01-02' GSXR 1000? How is it?
I assume being that the 02' bolt is covered by the left fairing that you have to cut a hole for the cage to connect. Anyone know the cleanest way to measure and drill (dremil) this hole in the fairing? I want to get it as close to perfect as possible to reduce cutting too much of the fairing and ending up with a hole.
*bevis voice* heh heh, he said "a hole" heh heh.
Thanks for the help!

yeah i got one on the 02 gixxer..i used a small drill bit to find the center of the hole then went to town with the dremel..you can use a hole saw too it really is only like 3/4 of a circle

Thats the thing, I still like my bike un-crunchdafied! I still

Re: 02' GSXR 1000 + FI's Crash Cage
i had an f. i cage. One drop from 12 and it broke my frame tab, sub frame tab and the left side of the cage caved in the magneto case. They are connected to the weakest spots on a gixxer.
I'm not knocking Tim or anybody but that $300 dollars was a waste.
I've seen a 929 go down 4 times from 12 before it was toast. :YEAH
I think those guys just need to make a new design for the gixxers.
P.s.
Cage held up well before i was learning 12's

Hummmm, well $300 is already out of my account. I just hope it arrives soon, maybe I can weld some reinforcements to make the FI cage a bit stronger. One thing I do like about the FI cage is the longer "Sliders" that it comes with.

Re: 02' GSXR 1000 + FI's Crash Cage
The only problem I Found with the F.I cage is that those extra long sliders make your bike tip over on to the tank, now my tank is all dented and rashed on the sides.. but oh well it happens.
