How many of you stunters took the MSF course?
How many of you stunters took the MSF course?
Just wondering how many stunters took the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course to get their license or a similar course before they started riding. I took it to get my license and believe it was the best decision I made regarding motorcycling. I think it's more important to learn how to swerve and emergency stop before learning how to wheelie. Don't mean to sound like a dork, but that has saved my life. I think some new riders these days overlook that stuff and just want to learn how to stunt. What's your take on it guys?
took it.. almost got kicked out for sleeping.. got a perfect score on the written and riding

Someday I will get my license and it won't be MSF. I trade to take the DMV test on my stunt bike but they wanted a horn, mirrors and all kinds of other crap I dont have.

i could imagine the look on their face as you pull around for the course...
I was doing circle wheelies by the time I got my license
showed up at DMV w/ 11up gearing and a 12bar on my ****. comedy
I've know some people to take MSF. if your insurance already sux then any break you can get is worth it and you get a decent one from msf right?
I just can't stand it because those tight a$$es make you do some much unrealistic stuff. "if the motorcycle is running you must have both hands on the grips and 4 fingers on each lever"
now how the f-ck are you going to flip off a cop during a wheelie if you have to have both hands on the bars?

True true. Aside from the insurance break and small BS in the course I still think it teaches some vital skills that everyone should know. Circle wheelies are mega pimp, but won't save your life when the soccer mom makes a sudden left in front of you. i took it after i got my lincence. after the cource they asked me to become an instructor. it tought me all the valuble skills i needed to out run those cops
oh wait no it didnt i learned that on my own

I took the course when I first started riding. Mainly, to get my license and the insurance break. It wasn't a f'in brake though(still over $2 G's for full coverage). So I did what most of use do and got insurance for a day, got my card then "FORGOT" to make my insurance payment. Now I got a beater with no insurance, tags, inspection, no tail light and a fat *** 12 bar. The course was good for the basics, but most of use here wouldn't benefit much. That don't talk much about the proper technique for no handed circles or shiit like that....

i work late nights so when i'd get off of work i'd practice the circle at the dvm in the middle of night(back when i first started riding). i've been dyin to go back and tear up the painted circles with some donuts, it'd be pimp to get some clean one's with in the lines
