It might just be me, but in my opinion that's exactly what your doing, selling someone elses stuff. if you sell 10 copies you just made $60 off other's stuff. I wouldn't be happy about seeing my video on something being sold and nothing coming my way for it all because someone knows how to burn a CD, and download them on a fast connection. See my point? If your trying to help someone out, then sell them at cost, so your truely not making money by selling somebody elses stuff. Just my 2 cents

Whoever thinks his idea is dumb needs to be smacked. What he is doing is finding an opportunity to make some money and taking it. I totally agree on what he is doing. Matter of fact I think he should say **** 95% and keep it all for himself. He is paying for the cd's and downloading all the ****. Stunt vids are free.... the people who stunted on them put them on the web for free... for people to watch for free... why would they care if it was on cd at somebody elses house somebody sold them? Either way the stunters get seen doing their stunts exactly what a stunter wants. It brings me back to a story that happened a long time ago... his name was Bill Gates... He "borrowed" a copy of DOS and made windows. He is now a multi-billionaire. A simple small idea could be the best thing you ever do in life. If you don't take it, then you are stupid. So what if he want's to make alittle change to feed himself here and there... it is his right to do what he will. I have downloaded music and sold it on cd's I made. Do the artist get paid? No... do I care? No. Why would I? I am happy with the money I am making and you can't tell me otherwise. Thanks. My 2 cents...
P.S. I am a dial up user... I still manage to download stunt vids but I do know how hard and long it takes to get them so I support him 100%

 

The difference between the corn story, and this is, do you have permission to use their video. That's what I was getting at. Stunt video's are posted up usually to let someone else no what your doing or whatever, but when someone starts selling it and not giving to one that did the real work, RIDING, then I have a big problem with it if you don't have their permission. I posted up to give you the view on the other side of things, keep people happy. So, there was no need to post up you little temper fit.
And I'm just going to pretend that your smart comment was talking to me.

I'm thinking he means just all the little trailers and 1 minute clips that people put on of themselves.

If that's the case, I don't really see anything wrong with it. Those people & teams put that footage on here to get people to buy their DVD's. All he would be doing is putting all that DVD advertising together.

Now, if your talking straight rips of the teams whole DVD....THAT'S NOT RIGHT!

Well ya'll still arn't getting the point. If they put their video's on the net and they want people to view it for "free". Then they are basically saying they don't care what happens to it. I stunt... I got a short clip being made. I am putting it on the net for "free" so everybody can see once it's done. If somebody want's to collect it on a cd and sell it... by all means he is welcome. People who think politicly are the people who get left behind in the business world. There is dreamers... then there is do'ers... If you sit back and dream and never do anything about it you're missing out. If the people who stunt find out he is distributing their video without their permission and they don't like it... I am sure he would be glad to cut them in. It's only fair right? But still most people wouldn't give a damn about what happens to their video as long as it's keeping people entertained. You people are being so close minded and thinking about what "could happen" without permission. Instead of doing your own thing making your own money and not criticizing other people's ideas. There is 2 more cents... now thats 4 cents.

 

That is correct! Somebody get's it now. That is how the business world works. Let me explain Bill Gates agian for those who didn't catch it the first time. Bill Gates "borrowed" the idea for DOS and called it MS DOS which he claimed his own. Distributed it on the market first... with Windows and it sold. He continued to make new Windows versions... and made more money. He is now a billionaire for doing this. It happens all the time in the business world. Some are small and you never heard about them but it still happens. It just matters on who does it first. It may be immoral and wrong but if it makes you a millionaire or just 5 bucks and you are happy... that is what matters most. 5 bucks you could donate to a guy in a santa outfit to buy some kid a toy. You people are just to closed minded about things. Until you learn to open up you will never be anything great. 6 cents now...

 

All i was saying is that you can't base it on assumptions, that most people would not care. Call it close minded or whatever, but in the business world their is a thing called lawsuits (not saying it applies in the situation), but it's out there. Do you now remember when Spike Lee sued Spike Television, and one just because they used a nickname that he was associated with. And that was just associated with, not even like this scenerio where they are what's making the money, THEIR, video's. If they don't have a problem with it cool, but I would be pissed if I saw someone making money off of me, without my knowledge. \
People who think politically do suceed in the business world, in fact that's all of what business is most of the time, just a bunch of politics, so of it BS complaining like this, but still necessary. It's not being close minded, it's called covering your butt. Lesson 101 in business.

 

I would like to see a lawsuit hold up in court for somebody selling stunt video's of other people. First off... like I said before they could get part of the money. Second off... there is no way for them to prove it is actually them in the video if they have a helmet on. You can't get a positive ID so therefore you could say it was one of your friends or somebody you saw in the street and asked their permission. Politic's is a part of business yes... but thinking close mindedly like you are is why you're not making money from the idea. Think about the facts first... are the riders who do the stunts really gonna see this cd to see if they are on it? They would have to buy it... or have somebody tell them they are on it. It's kinda like downloading mp3's the singers never really find every person who downloads their songs. But then agian motorcycles is more a closed society so bigger chance of being caught. If they don't copyright it ... it is free to copy and sell for yourself. And i notice alot of DVD are copyrighted. So you cannot copy them legally. If the people who put their stunts on the net put a copyright on their stunts then they would have some ground for lawsuit. Until then not much can happen. Because it's "FREE".

 

I see both sides of this story, and they both have great points. I think Tenny's idea is fine, he's making a compilation of video's he's personally collected that has been posted up for general use. The publicity for these are what make it worth it for 90% of the people putting them up. Another note, is that he's offering these to Stuntlife members, which already have access to these video's, just not all at once etc.... If anyone doesn't want their video being put out on these DVD's, then you better let Tenny know ASAP, or otherwise you don't have any grounds to stop him later. Why do I feel like bikerboy all the sudden(long post )
