Coasting lesson # 101

Measureing coasters are cool, but for christ's sake do it right or dont bother at all.. Idle cranked up -- revin it up-- and puttin it on the limiter is cool but if we are gonna start measureing them and being proud of it then you have to do it with the engine off so there is no fakeing the funk--

ok, i have a question with that, what happens if it starts to fall forward and you have to set it down? won't it mousetrap really hard if the motor is off?

i did some this weekend and i thought you could tell pretty easily that i had the clutch in once i pulled it...distinctive 8 grand to 1 grand drop.

i broke a 12 bar in 1/2 when i lost a rev limiter coaster on my F4i. it was great. 16k rpm's and the bike started to come down slowly, so my brain let the clutch out w/ out clue-ing in my throttle hand (ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba).

it was like a slingshot.

So now, I coast w/ the bike at 1,000 rpm so its silent. But motor of is player too.

well, i usually let the clutch out when it's coming down to catch it so i don't beat my forks all to hell.

it wont mousetrap, but it will slam down kinda hard depending on how much brake you accidentally use...definately is more technical...i been working on these and they are way cool- rock'em like ant and you too can be the man!!

my lame *** suzuki's clutch drags real nice and hard when I turn the motor off in gear. I'd be lucky to go 50' from 50mph I'm gonna see if I can knock it in to neutral before I shut 'er down today. anyone else do that?

It doesnt drag because its a zuk.. It drags because you need to adjust that chit. If the clutch is draggin that hard take a look at it asap.

I love doing rev limiter coasters. i think it looks and sounds cool. i try and check my **** alot though to make sure my cable isn't lookin ragged. People (in general not so much stunters) love to see limit coasters. When your on a strip and your limit coasting people love it, but yea i agree the engine off is awsome and it should be how it is measured.

Shuggs I have all kinds of chips for ya!!!

Tec tip---- ride normal on two wheels run through first and second pull the clutch in and kill the motor.. are you slowing down? or maintaining the same speed? If youre slowing down the clutch is draging so ajust the cable

The reason we do this is to demonstrate a true Manual Wheelie
on the limiter and even with the engine idleing you will still get pulled enough to cheat. this is just one of the standards that I feel need to be made so there are no discrepensees in a comp, not to mension its way more challenging

if your clutch is draggingit could be the cable, or it could be the basket. my clutch basket is spanked and ive filed it a bunch of times but it still drags real bad. need a new one. the clutch plates get hung up on the basket fingers.
