I could be wrong but ... I was under the impression that because the 929 filter is so small there is Nothing on the aftermarket scene that is useable.

I've never used anything but the stock ... couldn't find anything to fit.

If Wal-Mart does not have it on their shelf they will order them for you. I buy a case at a time for around $4 to $5 each. PH6017A is the correct part number. This filter fits a lot of bikes. The other popular part number is PH6018 GSXR's.
Good luck

actually the 929 and 900 have different oil filters even oem

900 use 15410-MM9-013

929/954 use 15410-MCJ-000

and i ride a GSXR which uses a 16510-34E00

if you ride a yamaha i believe it's a 5GH-13440-00-00

how do i know all this you ask? cuz i know everything.

ask the parts guy at your dealership to cross reference your oil filter part number. Fram and Suzukis (for some strange reason) seem to the cheapest filters ive found. yes, suzuki filters will fit a yamaha, probably a honda too. anyway, when the parts guy at my local dealer wanted $15 for the OEM yamaha oil filter i told him he could keep it, went to another dealer he cross referenced a fram for me.

And the guy above was right, none of the bike manufacturers make there own oil filters, or oil for that matter. they all buy em from suppliers like fram, wicks, etc. with their name on em and mark em up.
