We Just Got Banned!
Remember the clip I posted a couple of months ago that was filmed at the Ace Cafe in London? Y'know, the one where some of you thought we'd gone too far stunting in such a highly dangerous area?
Well, the film that clip came from (our first release), that was made for Streetfighters Magazine, was launched in the UK at the biggest bike show we have over here last weekend. Now everything was going superbly, sales had tripled compared to the previous year, everyone seemed to love it and everything was cooler than a penguin's nuts in a snow storm
Then came the phone call from the show today...
As of 4pm today, the new Streetfighters and BSH films [1] have been banned from sale and from being viewed by the public by Birmingham's Office Of Fair Trading
Exactly what's happening or why is unclear at this time, however it would appear that they feel these two films are simply too extreme for the poor British public to handle...
IQ 18 Films will be contacting the Office Of Fair Trading tomorrow morning to try and find out exactly why they've taken this decision
Obviously, this decision by the Office Of Fair Trading could have very serious consequences for all 'extreme' film makers in the UK. Wish us luck...
And no, this isn't a joke or some publicity stunt
[1] A chopper/Harley thing that's probably of no interest to anyone in here

That's feckin ****.
If you're looking for some kinda campaign to hssle them or anything, let me know and I'm sure I can do something to help (along wiht a load of other people I know ).
However if you could probably get decent sales as a 'banned' item if you could sell it from elsewhere over the net etc and get it shipped to the UK .

Hmm, the thread got moved. I put it on the video forum 'cos I figured any info we found out would be of use to you guys wanting to sell your vids in the UK - like the Starboyz, JD 2 etc.
And you know what? What we found out it does affect you guys if you want to sell your vids over here...
All videos in the UK have to have a certificate. Now, stunt vids usually carry the 'Exempt' certificate because, well, they're supposed to be. But not anymore
Here's why...
1) Any video or DVD that contains a dangerous activity/dangerous sport
must be submitted to the BBFC [1] for classification.
2) Any video or DVD that contains any nudity of any kind (even though
the BBFC's own guidelines explicitly specify genitalia) must be
submitted to the BBFC for classification.
3) Any video or DVD that contains any profanity, whether spoken or
contained within the musical sound track must be submitted to the BBFC
for classification.
4) Any video or DVD that contains an accident must be submitted to the
BBFC for classification.
The responsibility for submission rests with either the distributor of
the video/DVD or the video/DVD reseller. If there is any doubt what so
ever that a video or DVD may not be exempt from classification then that
video or DVD must be submitted to the BBFC for classification.
Anyone found breaking the above rules can be fined up to £20,000 ($34,081) per vid/DVD sold!
As you can imagine we've approached the BBFC to try and get a classification. They charge £9 ($15.34) per minute of running time to watch your vid and then tell you what they think should be removed before they will allow it to be sold
The best outcome we can hope for now is that they allow the film to be released without any cuts and that it can be seen or bought by people over the age of 15 - although it's more likely that we won't be able to sell it to anyone under 18, just like hardcore ****!
As someone said earlier - no, there ain't no freedom of speech or expression in the UK!

But naw man for real, if they do ban your shyt, then sell it underground & on the net for sure! What more publicity do you need, The shyt was banned! That will make MORE people want to see it & buy it for their collection. I haven't even seen it yet & i really do want to now, just outta curiousity.
Good luck. (if all else fails, move to the US, lol)
