I think the girls tha risk their lives on the back are pretty brave. I like watching tandem stuff, it's somethign different to watch besides the solo riders.

I don't know about tandem competing with solo riders. In one show I did see a rider go solo then picked up a passenger and did some tricks with a passenger.

How many 2-up teams would there be at competitions anyway? I don't know too many...

ummm so JC i guess i can't get on the bike with ya?

tandem is basically just matter of opinion like coke or pepsi..

Cat you enjoy doing it and that's all that should matter, you don't need to defend or explain yourself to anyone.

the question was asked on this thread and
JC has his opinion, that's how he feels...no big deal

We've actually done that.. Laura would perform solo then pick me up..But yeah.. everyone is intitled to an opinion.. But why be rude about it...?

wow, what a variety on the subject. i love doing tandem. i have had several different passengers and they have ranged in talent from poor to born naturals. it makes a big difference on how the weight is shifted around. anytime CAT or i try something new it scares the sh*t outta me. not because i feel outta control but because of the safety of my passenger who is my resposibility no matter whether i make a mistake or she does. it is certainly not for everyone and i have started to see more tandem riders (props to D's Beotch). carms and laura have come up with some sweet stunts. i probably wouldn't be doing tandem stunts today but i saw an area that no one else was exploring and the crowds reaction to a hot chick on the bike doing insane stuff hooked me. to see kids come up to CAT makes my day. they might not say one word to me but to see her get the props makes me proud. THAT is why i do it!!

J.C. have some respect bro If you don't like it, thats fine but don't hate because others do like it.

Anyways J.C. I have mad respect for your riding, It would be nice if all riders could give respect for others riding ability then to just bash it cause it's not your style.
[/QUOTE] i have respect for everyone

after i read a few things from other threads i am just saying what needs to be said

i dunno..... kind of a crowd thing i think.... unless you are actually innovative (ie, carms/mindsweeper)

its just to much that you see vid with some girl holding on for dear life, and then when you watch tandem stunts, you think the same thing,.. hard for the crowd to see a diff....

and when you have more then 2 people on there, arent you supposed to think "wow, that rider had so much control that he could do that with 12 passengers"... as opposed to "those 12 passengers have so much control to trust that rider"....

maybe the same would apply to somebody who didnt know to much about tandem stunts , like spectators..

i hope that some of that made sense....

should have a class of its own. Solo stunting vs. tandem is two different skills.

I'd have to say it is more of a CROWD Pleezer than anything. I think other teams that haven't tried it b4 just get irritated and think it is just taking up time. But I know 4 a FACT that the Crowds love it! And who is paying? Not the other Stunter, right.

And I would also agree with Thew, I feel that the person controlling the bike, should b just as professional as the competitors. He/she should be able to go out on his/her own and tear it up too.

You tandam teams out there that have partners on their OWN bikes, HELL YEA! I like to see both stunters out on their own bikes, then performing together as well!

I think it takes some skill to be on the bike. If you put me on the bike and pulled a stunt I'd just sit there and leave little poo stains on the seat, which I don't think would aid the rider in anyway. I do enjoy watching solo stunts better. But the occasional two up deal can keep things interesting.
