Important Announcement regarding NSRA Gainesville Event
UPDATE.......................NSRA EVENT IS ON!
I want to let everyone know that the 2003 NSRA National Championships are going to take place this Sunday, November 23rd, at the Gainesville Raceway. Click here for directions.
Tickets are $16 at the gate for General Admission. NSRA members get in for $10. Click here to find out more about becoming a member.
We have had some of the local riders offer to house those of you traveling from out of town and I think that is an awesome gesture. Click here to find out more info.
We have secured the insurance needed and everything is a GO! This insurance doesn't come cheap, as a result we are going to be enforcing all of the rules listed in the NSRA rule book. If you are planning on competing and have not yet read the rule book, make sure you do so. Click here to view the NSRA rule book.
Just to highlight a couple of requirements for this event:
Participants are required to have health insurance. The reason for this is for the longevity of the sport. If we didn't require it, multiple claims resulting from injuries would cause our insurance company to drop us. When that happens, we can't hold events anymore.
Participants must pass Tech Inspection. The tech inspection requirements are listed in the rule book. Please make sure you review the rule book so that you can set up your bike ahead of time. All of the requirements are there for a reason, so don't think that we are doing this because it sounds like fun. It's all for the best interest of the riders.
Registration is limited to the first 40 riders. This must be done for time constraints because this is a one day event. In future events, there will not be a cap on the number of riders.
General Competition Procedures Just so everyone is clear, here is the general format of this event. There is one entry fee ($100) and one class to compete in.
Qualifying All riders will compete in 4 compulsory events during qualifying: Xtreme Freestyle, Longest Stoppie, Controlled Wheelie, and Freestyle Burnout. The details of each event are outlined in the RULE BOOK.
Riders will recieve a score out of 100 points for each event. They will then recieve an All-Around Score that is made up of: 40% Freestyle, 20% Stoppie, 20% Wheelie, and 20% Burnout. Riders will then be ranked in order of their All-Around Scores, TOP 15 RIDERS ADVANCE TO FINALS.
Finals All scores are reset. All riders will compete in two events during finals: Xtreme Freestyle and Sickest Trick. The details of each event are outlined in the RULE BOOK.
Riders will recieve a score out of 100 points for each event. They will then recieve a Final Score that is made up of: 75% Freestyle, 25% Sickest Trick. Riders will then be ranked in order of their Final Scores to determine the final results. TOP 15 RIDERS GET PAID! If you make it to the finals, you get paid.
Click here to see the PAYOUTS.
Last but not least, there will be a VIP Rider party at The Loft, downtown Gainesville Saturday night. NSRA members will recieve free entry and free beer until the kegs run dry. Make sure you come out to hang with your favorite riders and have a good time in the #1 rated college party town in the country. The Loft is located at 7 SW 1st Street. Ask anyone in town and they will be able to show you how to get there.
See everyone there!
