Just wondering what you all use front or back or one of each?

I can only ride a standup for about 3 seconds right now. I get too scared when i feel it going into the balance point. I was wondering if i might be better off standing on the back pegs. Any opions on what i should do. This is just for standups not slow ****.

 

Learn on the front pegs

 

Definetly start with the front pegs, get use to the balance point, till you ride'em long enough and you're 100% comfortable then try the back pegs wich is straight up pimp but may be to scary if you try to learn that way since you have the bike almost at 12, it is waaaay better to ride them on the back pegs cuz you don't get as tired from your arms and back, and it's easier to ride the balance point. my 2 cents.

 

I'm curious about locking your back pegs. How do you guys do this? I've heard about drilling through them. What kind of drill is needed for this? Would it be easier to weld it? Thanks for the info.

 

Put some duct around where it pivots. By the way...I RIDE ON YOUR MOM.

 

Front pegs for sure. Get comfy. Always keep that right foot on the brake.

 

I wouldn't do any drilling. You don't want to weaken your pegs

 

let some air outta your tires, stand on the rear pegs, second gear might I add, clutch it up at like four g's. find the b/p and you'll ride them stand ups forever. I'm sure you might have seen me on tower when I was learning. not that it matters anymore now that its below fiddy degreez. good luck though.

 

hose clamps on the brackets they break when u drop the bike but if there welded or drilled the pegs break

i use the front pegs for most **** and the combo the pegs for the slow stuff

 

stick to the front pegs until you get comfortable. Its all balance and throttle control. Once you get comfy you can start trying all sorts of ****. good luck

 

Agree with learning on the fronts. And don't do any drilling on the backs. practice

 

Yeah dude i remember you. Not when you were learning though. I rode with you that one night. We went to my house and then up and down 145 and then we sat at the gas station for like an hour.

 

does standing on the rear pegs lower the balance point or does it make it higher? i think i am going to try this weekend. Thi sis for fast wheelies correct?

 

I use one foot on the front hovering the brake and one on the back peg. I find it alot eaiser and more control of the bike. Takes some getting use to at first but now i dont even realize i do it, its automatic.

 

i agree wit chris my buddy showed me that and it is alot better alot more balance the first couple times feels weird but after that u will not go to anyother way

 

once your comfortable on the front pegs then start changin **** up. Until then stick to the front or your gonna F'up your game. Once you got that **** on lock you can jump around all over the bike like a monkey.

 

where's the option for RIGHT foot on passanger peg, and LEFT foot on front peg ??

I usually pull it up with right foot covering brake, then switch it to both on back pegs if i'm gonna ride it for a while cuz you can just stand with your weight evenley on both pegs..

I can't ride em out for **** with both feet on front pegs because my arms are weak as hell and I can't hold myself up for more then 20 seconds

and yes, both feet on rear pegs = higher balance point because you have more of your weight further back therefore putting the center of gravity much further back..

the balance point.. comes with time and pratice.. you learn when is too far, and how far back you can go.. you CAN go the point of where it FEELS like your going backwards but still save it..

I know how far back I can go and save it with throttle, as well as how far back I can go and save it with brake.. it just takes pratice pratice pratice

 

naw man that is for slow wheelies......you get the bike higher when your on the back pegs, when you're higher you wont gain the speed you do when youre on the front pegs, Take it for what its worth people I'm new at this chitt and I've been riddin like 3-4 mile wheelies at about 65mph down I-94 for the past week. trying to get a ten mile wheelie on film but someone always cuts me off.
