Converting a GSXR1000 to stunt

Ok, I've got me a crashed 2002 GSXR1000 that I'm rebuilding (new frame & forks). I'm turning it into a dedicated stunt bike. It'll be riden on the street, but streetability isn't much of a concern since I already have a street bike.

It's got a pipe and rearsets which I'll be replacing with stock ones. I plan on ditching the ram air tubes, ignition key and kill switch. (I'll swap the kill switch/starter function over to the high beams/horn on the other side). I'd like to install a second radiator fan with both on a manual switch to keep things cool. I'll disable the knock over switch and go with a teather. I guess I'll dump the stock stock guages and go with a bicycle speedo for street use.

My questions are as follows:

- Which crash cage should I get?
- Which wheelie bar should I get?
- Are there and strong (steel?) fairing stays?
- What small fairing/headlight should I get?
- What dirt bike bars should I get?
- I've got NRC race covers - Should I install them or leave on the stockers?
- What gearing should I run? (525 chain - anylength)
- Anything else I should do to make this thing wheelie/stoppie/crash better?

Is there anything I'm missing here?

keep the rear sets and nrc comvers both are stronger than stock, if anything put stock pegs in the rear sets (if you have hard pegs)

Dont get rid of the ignition or you might be sorry one day and keep the guages as they will fit behind an induro headlight.

-Get a Racing 905 cage
-Get a Racing 905 wheelie bar
-If you replace the front and streetfight your bike you dont need stays
-Pro Taper bars
-?????
-Down one and up Five with 530 pitch
-Practice your **** off and good luck

The skills are for next year. The season is pretty much over for this year, so I've got all winter to make this thing crashable.

:-)

This brings up an idea I have. Has anybody thought of adding some delrin to the front mounts of a FI cage, where it mounts to the top engine bolts? I am refering to mine on a gixxer, I just figure like this there is a nice cushion between the frame and the slider, not metal on metal which has a tendency to strip and break. Just an idea, if you see this post Tim, feel free to try it and send me some pics...

i recommend cages and 12 bars from 905 cause i've crash tested them plenty of times myself and still havent touched the plastics the only damage i've done is break a couple of front brake levers

and for the gearing im 2 down 11 up and it's the ****

Thanks for the advice guys.

I think it would be simple to mount sound small mushroom type frame sliders to the 905 cage (from the pics I've seen at least). Just drill a hole through the tube where you would put the socket to install it and get some delrin on a lathe. Turn it so it's a tight fit down the holt and put an R clip to secure it into place. voila.
