I need opinions

I could get a 1994 900RR for $2500 that needs a little love and cleaning cosmetically. It has 98 plastics, polished, rebuilt motor (dont know how legit it is though ), the swingarm thats on it now has a hole punch in it from when it was dropped and the rearset hit it but he's giving me another swingarm, he'll give me a new gauge cluster, another set of plastics, some tires, and whatever it needs. I havent heard it run yet but he says its legit, I'll hear it run before I buy it of course. The thing thats really holding me back is the fact that he says the title has a lien on it. A guy brought it to him, got it polished but couldnt come up with the loot to pay for it and left it there. Its been sitting there for a year so the guy Im buying it from put a lien on it. I dont know how easy it will be to have a new title issued in my name and register it. Im still gonna go to the DMV on Monday and talk to someone about this. Please give me your honest thoughts on this because I dont know what to do. My brain is telling me to think this through but my dick is telling me to buy it. Here are some pictures of the bike. Thanks y'all.

By the way, this is coming from a shop with rolling chassis', rims, frames, and bikes with square rear tires all over.....Oh yea and he SAID he just rebuilt the motor, but then went on to say it wasnt started in about a year.

I just dont wanna buy it, take the lien title to get a clean title at the DMV, and then get cuffed cause the bike is stolen. The guys Im buying from dont seem too honest. Im afraid to even ask to get the VIN off the steering head and check it out at DMV cause these guys will most likely kick me out of their shop. One more question: This bike has the '94 893cc(It think thats it) motor in it, will the later 919cc motor bolt right in or will I have to mod some things? Thanks to everyone for hearing me out, I really appreciate all the help.

If they won't let you get the vin # then somethings up! I think its not a bad deal if its not stolen but the guy sounds shady. The motor swap is very easy (893 to 919). If you can get the bike and title work no with no prob go for it!

BE AFRAID

BE AFRAID. BE VERY AFRAID.

WORDS OF THE WISE "IF IT LOOKS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, THAN IT PROBABLY IS.

20,000+MILES ON IT.
FIGURE THIS... IT COST ROUGHLY (WITH TIME AND LABOR) 1500$ TO REALLY REBIULD A BIKE.

IF YOU WERE IN HIS POSITION (NOT GETTIN' PAID FOR POLISHIN' LABOR), WOULD YOU SELL IT FOR 2500$???

I PERSONALLY KNOW SOMEONE WITH A 94 CBR900RR FOR SALE FOR 3000$ FIRM. HE'S OWNED SINCE KNEW. HE'S AN OLDER GUY
AND RIDES IT AS TRANSPORTATION ONLY. GOT LIKE 12000 EASY MILES ON IT. ALL BONE STOCK.

I CAN HONESTLY SAY IT'S NEVER BEEN WHEELIED.
GOT THE ORIGINAL FRONT TIRE ON IT. THAT'S HOW I CAN TELL.

same as mine 94 with 98 plastics,

sounds like a good deal if it isnt stolen, the one ransom has seems like a better deal, but the stock 94 plastics are ugly as hell, if you can get the vin# off the bike hit me up on pm, i have a couple friends who are cops who will run vin for ya.

but then you gotta teach me how to rock some slow wheelies
