GSXR motor problem

I just bought a 750 gsxr motor (2002) off of ebay and when I got it I noticed that the numbers on the back of the motor had been scratched off. ok, I can put 2 and 2 together, but is there any other way that I can track down the origin of the motor and get the guy to give me my $$$ back?

I have no idea if there's any other number stamps on the engine. Either way, you're going to lose. If you report it, you'll probably lose the engine because the cops will confiscate it. I doubt the seller is going to take back the engine either. You could get lucky, but other than that, sorry

You should really just keep your mouth shut about it. Especially on the internet.

You might only have problems when/if you total the bike and when you sell it to someone else. Other than that keep the trap shut. As far as I know you are looking at something wrong. It could be just a weld.........................Start looking for an extra motor that would be legit and beat that one with the welds on weird places as I can't see it (nor do I have a desire to).....Just ride it. be careful when you bring it for repairs too. But if anything you didn't do and if you report it the cops will take it foir the records and to put the feds on the guy that sold it. Your call...Be more careful. That is why I don't buy bikes I can't see and ride.,.............
