Lightbulb GSXR RIDERS

has anyone tried a derestrictor for their bike??
does it work?

"IVANS TRE IGNITION TIMING RETARD ELIMINATOR & TOP-SPEED DERESTRICTOR FOR MOST FUEL INJECTED SUZUKI MODELS (Reference #32207)

New Top-Speed Derestrictor and Timing Retard Eliminator for Suzuki Sportsbikes.

The plug ‘n play TRE overcomes the top speed limiter on GSXR1000 and GSX1300R (2001 on). It also provides much better part-throttle response and increased torque (with reduced on-off jerkiness) in the first 4 gears of all EFI Suzuki sportsbikes by bypassing separate retarded ignition maps which are designed to ‘soften’ the bike’s performance to avoid wheelies and wheelspin.

This unit tricks the bike's ECU into thinking it is still in 5th gear when you select 6th to avoid the speed limiter activating at 186MPH.

Fits the following models:
GSXR1000 K1> 01>
GSXR600 K1> 01>
GSXR750 W> 98>
TL1000R W> 98>
TL1000S W-K1 98-01
GSX1300R X> 99> Hayabusa
GSX1400 K1 01

Price: £51.05 £59.98 Including VAT at 17.5%"

all you have to do is wire a resistor in series with a couple wires, that kit is a big time waste of money, for the 750 i know it's a 15k resistor but i think it's different for the other bikes

I bought the kit from yellow fever on the GIXXER.COM board. It was like $12 and I did notice the jerk was gone but no real power increase.

Did the mod yesterday! Bought $5 worth of parts at radioshack and made it myself. My advice use a dpdt toggle switch so you can swith it back to stock for cold startups! If you need the procedure and radioshack part numbers go to www.onedownfiveup.com

It seems the mod is more noticable in 2nd and 3rd gears than in 1st. I kept switching it back and forth but I really won't be able to tell until I do some roll on out of the corners. That what was pissing me off so bad, then I started doing my homework and found out about it. Trust me don't buy the harness it's so easy to do it's retarded. It probably took me an 1 from start to finish but put some thought into first before you go cutting any wires or anything. For five dollars it's a no brainer!
Peace

Re: GSXR RIDERS

personally i shut it off for stunting.. made the bike way too twitchy... even some of the riders that i ride with that do all sorts of tricks and are extremly smooth said its miserable, i shut it off and they are like thats soo much nicer, also u have more engine break with it off

Re: GSXR RIDERS

The TRE does take away about %50 of the engine breaking, but my bike seemed smoother after the TRE...

Re: GSXR RIDERS

I had it on mine and took it off because it seemed more twitchy. A 20up 1000 is hard enough to ride without anything making it worse.

Re: GSXR RIDERS

I took mine off also cause it was too twitchy on my 11 up 1000. I did notice a little power increase though. Nothing great. If you don't want to make it yourself you can get them for like $20 on E-Bay.

Re: GSXR RIDERS

I Took Mine Out....

Had It Dynoed With No Noticable Improvement On Or Off.
It Does Take Away The Top Speed Regulator On The Gsxr 1k Though.

ALL YOU NEED IS AN OIL PICKUP FROM STUNTEX.COM. THE BEST THING INVENTED FOR THE GIXXER SINCE THE 929. THOUGHT YOU THOUGHT- O.G.
