crash cages
i know what you're probably thinking... another damn crash cage thread. but i was wondering if everybody could post pics of their crash cages. custom, racing 905 (especially), and FI if you want to, but i think that everybody already knows what they look like. thanks-
here's the updated version...with the lower hoop going through in front of the motor/behing the header instead of underneath the bike wich used to cause it to scrape.
the upper hoop just has a slip joint with a bolt (not attaches to the bike, so it will not cause damage in a wreck, just prevent it)
the upper was my idea and request upon fabrication of the cage.
this is a racing905 cage made of chromoly...smaller 1" diameter, but same wall thickness....saved the bike from an accidental 50mph+ 12 o'clock crash involving serveral flips and quite a few other low speed crashes.
I am not trying to advertise for anyone, just answering the question...
this cage will not hit the ground in the twisties...or while doing this:
also my 12 o'clock bar sits right behind my taillight, has two holes in it for the light to shine through, bolts to my passenger rear sets and to the mounts for the tail plastic to the subframe, and best of all: is designed to have another plate bolt to it, allowing a variety of plate sizes and keeping the base from being scraped down and needing replacment.

that's decent. i like the idea of being able to ride it through the twisties. do you have to send your bike to 905 or can they make it and ship it and then put it on your self. i live in ME so i think that it would be shitty to have to ship it... well, i wouldn't do that anyway (too much $$$).
they can fab it on a bike like yours...but i don't want to get into shop/manufacturer specifics in this thread...that's why the last one got lame and was closed....
