Re: point of idle cable?

I don't know about gsxrs really but on an f4i the stock idle adjuster really adjusts like air/fuel mixture or something instead of actually turning the butterflies so the one you add adjusts the actual throttle itself.

Re: point of idle cable?

the idle cable just makes it easier for you to adjust the bolt... so you dont have to lift you gas take up everytime you wanna adjust the idle the cable will just be down the side and you can adjust it whenever

Re: point of idle cable?

um well i run the 636 and when i bought the bike it already had the cable... but im thinking you can just go down to your local bike shop and tell them you want and idle cable for what ever bike you have, im not sure if they just order a cable from another bike or what but im sure they will be able to help you out

Re: point of idle cable?

the stock cable only changes the amount of air going into your motor so when you raise your idle on the stock adjuster it runs lean because it adjusts it internally. you have to replace your stop screw with the 2nd idle adjuster screw that way when you raise idle it opens the butterflys a little which adds more air AND fuel so you dont run rich. there a bunch of links on here about how to do it, not sure if theres one for a gsxr though
