You shouldn't be liable for anything. Its an unfortunate situation but you should be able to go after the family

Go after them all the way. Theft is theft. Yes, a life is lost but that individual knew the risks, and put themselves in that situation

Here's a little follow up to what's going on as of right now, The police failed to tell me that my bike was in a accident or that was found, nobody called me to tell me whats going on. So what does everyone think, Whos responsible For the bike or and the fees to get it out, which would not be worth it anyway
That sucks man but I would not talk to the family. Go through the attorney and go after his vehicle insurance or his home owners insurance if he had it. The family is NOT going to be responsive (at least not in a positive way) to your request to settle it. Make sure to go after the insurance for enough to cover attorney's fees.

karma's a bitch man. it isnt your fault the guy stole YOUR bike and wrecked it and died. you get whatcha ya got coming, hope everything works out bro.

Thats messed up. Even tho this guy lost his life. His family should be 100% responsible for the fees. It was his stupid decision to steal ur bike. He and his family have to pay concequences for his stupid actions.

Lawyer up bro.

Lazy cops to why the hell wouldn't they tell you. Id be pissed not only about the 35 a day but your bike was stolen your freaking out and they know what hell happened.
