Question about pitbike
Question about pitbike
Im going to buy a pitbike for playing around in the winter. I see everyone does the crf50s. Im 6'5 230 pounds would you recommend something bigger like a 125? I was considering a ttr 125 to stunt out. DO they make parts to stunt them.
What do you guys think? What should I buy?

Re: Question about pitbike
haha a ttr pit bikes its a crf50 xr50 klx110 or nothing in my oppinon tall bars will fix the height problem and personally its alot cheaper to buy a built pit bike then to try and build one from stock
Re: Question about pitbike
check out Ryan Moore's site www.50stunt.com
get a either the crf50/xr50, crf70/xr70, klx110, drz110 or drz70
check out the link above for everything you need to set up any of the bikes stated with stunt parts!

What ones have the clutch? I see some with and some without. Or do I have to convert.

Re: Question about pitbike
OK did some research. Need a vote. Crf 50 or Crf 150. The 150 can be used out the mountain better than the 50 and looks more manly to stunt. But the 50 is cheap and plenty of parts.

Re: Question about pitbike
150s are way funn to stunt! theres really not any parts your gonna need, i mean if you want bars and maybe an exhaust, then xr50.com sells parts
ohh and ps, your gonna want the crf150f ------ NOT THE 150R
atleat i wouldnt want to stunt the r model

Re: Question about pitbike
if you go for the 150f that would be lame! if you want a bigger stunt pitbike than the 50 or 110's then i would either go with the crf100 and get all of these parts:

or get the 150r and get someone to make a foot bar and rear pegs and set up a hand brake.

Re: Question about pitbike
yeah thats my thinking a real pit bike is a crf xr 50 or klx drz 110 i always buy ones that are already built and within driving range oh yeah and crazy cheap just sold my completly built crf50 red baron g2 to Hohey and got a klx 110(built) .. i have had a few 50's and there awsome for stunts but if you ever ride them to the store or something it sucks not having the speed of a klx110 or drz mine has the 143 motor kit and it put me on my *** before i left the driveway
this was my 50 now it's hohey's

and this is my klx110

Re: Question about pitbike
i have rode a set up crf 150f and a set up crf100 with the 132 big bore kit and the crf100 was way better hands down. and at least you can get a good reliable hand brake for the crf100 from Ryan Moore. But if he got a crf150r that is a totally differant story! 150r is better lokking has disc brakes front and back and have way more advanced suspention.
Re: Question about pitbike
+1
I've stunted a 100 and my 150 a bunch, I'd much rather have a 150
The 50, and klx110 are dope though, I like both those bikes.
My 150f was great for learning, taught me a lot that transfered to a sport bike. since it's heavy it's more like stunting a sport bike then a pit bike like a 50 would be.

the 150f is the same thing as a 100f, except the 150f has more power, better front brake, slightly better suspension, and seems a lot stronger then a 100.
The 150r wouldn't be great for stunting, you'd be replacing pistons every 50 hours, cranks every 100-150 hours. Great race bikes (even though there is no race class for them anymore), but they just aren't reliable enough for stunt riding.
Don't get me wrong, a 150r would be dope to stunt, but way to expensive.

My zip is 17888. I dont want to spend a whole lot though.
Re: Question about pitbike
You'd be looking at $1100-$1600 on a 150f depending on conditon/year/ and the seller.
I know you can find mint bikes with low hours, like a 06 for $1400.. then again, some people think their shitty 03 thats beat to **** is worth 2grand
50's are dope too and have the biggest aftermarket part world out of any pit bike option.. But you are a big guy. i'd almost think you'd be better off on a 110 or a 150
My friends 6'2 and rides a 50 no problem though, he has a blast on it, had it for 2 years. Big bars are a MUST, and stiffer suspension and a big bore kit are a huge plus
You could pick up a 50 with big bars arleady, and possibly a big bore and suspension for around $700-$900
