why does no one use gp tech?

it seems like everyone uses an ez-pull and some kinda of radial master.

why not use the gp tech setup with a stacked shorty clutch?

is it that its not an ez-pull, or its a cheap setup? idk... just curious i guess.

Re: why does no one use gp tech?

they arent adjustable at all , the little clutch lever blows and you cant use different size masters for different brake set ups ..

Re: why does no one use gp tech?

but to run a non-gptech setup with two full levers and clamps i have to get longer clip ons right?

i guess what im trying to avoid is cutting my upper. i really like db bars or turned and flipped clips, but you have to cut your windshield so far and it looks terrible.

any way i can get around that? get a good hb setup with longer clip ons and position them semi comfortable and still not cut the upper? hahaha am i asking for too much here?

Re: why does no one use gp tech?

Well, you kinda might be asking for too much here. If you aren't going to keep your turn signal box on your clip on, you can probably get away with using standard size clip-ons with your handbrake/clutch set up. There are soooo many variables here though. On some bikes, if you don't push the clip-ons too far forward after you flip them, you can get away with only cutting a rounded notch in the side of the upper (below the windscreen). That is with standard size clip ons. If you push them further out, you will probably have to cut more away.

I just ran into this problem when I flipped and pushed my clip-ons on my street killer. I have to cut the upper now and was only going to notch it but I may cut it down a lot more. I honestly like the cut down look. It's easier for high chairs too.

Re: why does no one use gp tech?

You do not want to buy that setup! I bought it when I first started and didn't know any better. Not only is it waaay too much money, but it is the most uncomfortable setup you can possibly imagine. The clutch is in a f-d up position, hard to pull in, and cuts into your finger. It was absolutely the worst buying decision I have made in my life, and I'm not exaggerating one bit!

Re: why does no one use gp tech?

hahah yeah i had a gp tech setup and so did my friend. and you're absolutely right the clutch is hard to pull and it cuts the hell out of your finger.

well, i guess the advice you've all given me is helpful. i want something stuntable down the road that looks stock and normal haha, with a cut way down upper it kinda sticks out. but i guess ill buy a second upper, cut it and see how i like it.

and omr, you're right. the 03-04s stick up like the popes hat. they have tons of room, my 05 is really laid back and my bars are real far under it. its nice for buck twenty turns when you're all hucked under it and id hate to give that comfort up to run turned clip ons.
