Re: wheelie help
stop poppin the clutch....a 1000 should have more than enough power to take that front wheel off the ground. All you need is to give it gas....and make sure you do this on a familiar street thats not busy at all. Also try shifting your weigh as you feel the bike go up and back go with it just not all the way

Re: wheelie help
i ride a 1000. its not the right bike for you to learn on. but if you going to do it anyway get out of first. you can roll on wheelie 1 thru 3 gear all power but its way to danger and the high the revs, the fast you be going, and speed and learn dont mix. in second i clutch my at 6k and dump it around 9k and it stands right up. dont start there. start at about 4k and just pop it up and work you way up from there. ALL WAYS COVER YOUR REAR BRAKE. when you get that down you'll fine its a lot nice to bounce in third and ride then. be care you need to respect a 1000 in 10 years of ride i've broke my back, blow a bone out of the top of my arm, and have three pins in my ankle and im only 25 so dont push it to hard to fast just pratice and cover that rear brake

Re: wheelie help
wait until your better before you try to clutch first gear, youll prob get hurt clutch 2nd gear, that bike will pick up at a low rpm in 2nd if u get used to using the clutch a little more aggresively. But just my , learn to go back to balance point and keep it there with maybe going a little faster in 2nd, get good at those then try to clutch up from a slow speed, takes a lot more skill to balance at a slow speed so you might as well learn to squid wheelie first

Re: wheelie help
YOU DO NOT NEED TO CLUTCH UP A 1000cc BIKE STOP TRYING IT YOU WILL CRASH IT YOU WILL MORE THEN LIKELY HURT YOURSELF OR SOMEONE AROUND YOU!!!EITHER LEARN TO WHEELIE IT OFF POWER ALONE (PERSONALLY I WOULDNT EVEN DO THAT)OR BUY A 600CC BIKE IF YOU WANT TO LEARN TO STUNT,STARTING ON A 1000 IS THE WRONG WAY TO DO IT.

Re: wheelie help
try doing wheelies in 2nd gear, its a little more forgiving, dump the clutch at 35mph but practice it at a low RPM first. Gradually dump it at a higher rpm so you can figure out how much throttle needs to be given. Its practice, listen to the motor, looking down at the tach will just make it harder.

Re: wheelie help
1000 has more than enough power. are you doing sitdowns or stand ups? you shouldnt have to bounce it either way. however I have bounced up a 2nd gear stand up on a 1000, its a little more tricky because your timing has to be perfect. I would practice your 2nd gear sit downs first.

Re: wheelie help
yes im still workin on sitin down .. yet so far you advise have been helpfull i never relized how high rpms have to be in 1st to get it off the ground so i think ill work on second gear...
