handbrake input (please!!!)
handbrake input (please!!!)
looking for some input from you guys.
I have the full throttle single caliper adapter setup with an unknown master (pic below, if anyone knows what it is that would help me out a bunch, says nissin but that about all i know, im sure its a stock brake from something)
I need help on 2 things (I have done alot of searching, and yes i know alot of this is personal preference.
1. I just dont feel like this setup is that great, I feel like i have to squeeze the **** out of it to slow the bike down and id like something with a little more braking power. should i:
A. get a better master
B. get a 4 piston caliper ( thought about keeping my setup and getting a 4 piston adapter, running still the one caliper adapter but it would be a 4 piston rather than a 2)
C. get a dual caliper setup, ( i like the hohey "streetfighters setup with the 2 piston for the foot and the 4 piston for the rear)
2. If i decide to ditch my current setup will i need to replace the rear foot master since its tapped for the adapter?

Re: handbrake input (please!!!)
you think the 4 piston but using only one caliper is a dumb idea? its alot cheaper if i do it that way... got a link to that lever setup? i dont mind the msr lever, although maybe thats because its all ive ever used...

Re: handbrake input (please!!!)
Looks like a stock R6 master
I would start at getting a new master. Brembo just came out with an andjustable one http://www.naarden.biz/proddetail.as...-Forged-Radial
This is a clutch side 16x18 or a 16x20 that is adjustable. I feel most of your problem is the master.
But if that doesnt work which i really really think that will help you a lot. then If you were on anything but a f4i i would move to a hohey dual single caliper and expand it out to a single and a 4 piston but the f4i is the only one that doesnt take the bracket upgrade. Sooo either the street fighter 4 piston ( http://www.naarden.biz/proddetail.as...Bracket&cat=47 ) + single or the dual single ( http://www.naarden.biz/proddetail.as...Bracket&cat=47 ) or if you want all of it the full throttle. ( http://www.naarden.biz/proddetail.as...4piston&cat=47)

Re: handbrake input (please!!!)
and i think its better to have two seperate rear brake systems but the adapter brkt w/ a four piston caliper helped me a bunch....it would be more than enouph for someone who is just starting out....i only swiched mine to a duel 4 piston b/c of the conflict beween hb and fb and for longer pad life...... but the performance is about the same i think.... keeping your lever long on your hb makes a huge diff too....
Re: handbrake input (please!!!)
the answer is everything you said. that master is crap. probably a front brake flipped off a random bike or something. Depends on what you want to do. Lot stunting a r1 probably not too good of an idea. So if you just want a hb you can do ss down the streets then just get a brembo 16x18 and get a 4 piston caliper and use a tear drop fitting. You will be money. Even a 2 piston on the streets with a brembo would probably be plenty.
Re: handbrake input (please!!!)
it uses the stock bracket and you just bolt the adapter to it....works pretty good, i just got a duel so i dont need it any more!
Re: handbrake input (please!!!)
im thinking about getting this setup..if he accepts my offer

is this master going to perform alot better than mine? of am i still being too cheap? plus with this guys setup i cant run a 4 piston caliper.

Re: handbrake input (please!!!)
word!!! that 4 piston is gonna be alot different when you foot brake!!! takes some getting used too for sure, but you will love it in time!!!!
Re: handbrake input (please!!!)
thats prob. because you are around half the time im riding fool..ive def. turned a revolution atleast in HC/50/50/spreader...ask around or show up to the airport once in a while if you wanna see it in person..haha..and im not "hating"(such a dumb term used too much irrisponsibly)on your frembo, just dreading the day it fails and i gotta scrape you and your bike off the eway...now stop giving out advice squid and leave that to the people who can actually ride....lol
