03-04 636 vs 05-06 636
03-04 636 vs 05-06 636
Just sold my 04 600RR and it's pretty much the only bike I know. I've been lookin at an 05 636 that I'm supposed to go pick up this week. Just wondering why most stunt riders prefer the 03-04 and if it's a bad idea to go with an 05.

why did you sell that one just to get another new one? just feel like trying something different?
Re: 03-04 636 vs 05-06 636
I had the 04 zx6rr and loved it, now I have a 06 636 and love it even more. In my opinion the 05-06 body style looks a lot better. No choke to deal with on my 06 either. Not that it was a big hassle or anything. I never stunted 04, and have only started to on the 06. I am curious about the weak subframe now though.

Yea I've heard about the subframes. Atown has braces for the 05-06. How well do they work i don't know, but I've heard nothin but great things about their stuff and that's where I'm gettin my cage from. But yea I like the way they look better too, and swapping out the front end on the 03-04 doesn't really appeal to me. Still really haven't heard why most riders have the 03-04 though...

i have had an 03 and 04. now i am on an 05 and love it. i havnt had any problems with the subframe! just be smart with it, and do not gorilla park the damn thing and it should be fine. as far as the subframe brace, im not so sure that it is a good idea. my thought is that if you strengthen the subframe, then it will put a lot more pressure on the frame. i would rather take a chance on bending the subframe, then doing damage to the frame. i may be wrong, and it may be the way to go, but it concerns me a little.
+10 frames are hard to replace, not to mention expensive as ****--you can get subframes all day long for fairly cheap.
