Thumbs down crash

Today I had a crash that I thought would never happen. I looped out a tank wheelie. I am preety confident on the tank and I finally brought it back too far. I was doing a tank to flamingo combo and I just went past balance and was dragg'n 12o'clock when I was sit'n on the tank. This was the weirdest crash cause after I knew I was crash'n I couldn't stop the bike from going past balance point. Any one else had any crashes where u could think about the crash as it was happening?

my boy XP Billy just flipped a tank wheelie at our last show in Deland Florida. he was doin a spreader and as he went to click the heels together he flipped, but it was shitty cuz before he could jump into the seat, he nailed the 12 bar and it flung the bike down and he broke a rib on the gas tank. but he almost saved it!!

prozak said I got to the seat but I couldn'y get to my brake lever. I could feel my tail dragg'n when I was upon the tank, that was kind of cool.

You want a thumb operated rear brake, you do - intentional highchair scrapes would then be yours

Exclamation That sucks

I looped a standup and a sitdown @ about 65. never a tank wheelie. I was too stupid to go for the rear brake, that;s a pretty crappy feeling when you goin past balanc, feel the tail scrape, and just lose it and roll down the street and every revolution you rol seeing your bike flipping and bouncing off a parked car. Newbie mistake. Where can you get these thumb brakes I keep Hearing about??? Can you make them ??? and slice into your rear brake line??? Thanks-

I bought a throttle lock for use on the freeway when going far....we were filming and I did some trick for the camera and must have accidently engaged the throttle lock. Then I went to do a normal stand up wheelie as I rode away and let off the throttle when I got to the balance point, but it kept going (oh ****@!)
I was able to force off the throttle, but was already on the 12 o'clock bar at 50+mph.... it was stable...I had time to think "hey this is o.k., I am not crashing right now" ....I tried to hit the rear brake to bring it down and it went over sideways, landed on my leg and flipped several times. Luckily I have a great crash cage and the bike was mostly saved. It was hard to walk for about a week or so.

Most race shops can get them - but they're not cheap even if they are ultra-trick

You can make one fairly easily, though, by using a front brake master cylinder assembly and putting it on the left bar so that the brake lever sits below the clutch lever

forget thumbbrakes. their cool and all but theyre only cool if your scraping highchairs. if you really want to ride em high and not go over when your past balance point just gear your rear sprocket to about up 22-24. then the engine brake just pulls you back down because of the drag on the engine from the rpm being up higher in a lower gear.
well just my .02 cents

mike
