Re: this is how we get bad names.

motorcyclists in general have always had and always will have a bad name especially sportbike riders regardless of who runs. ppl run in cars all the time and you dont see car drivers getting a bad name cuz of it.

when you already have a felony warrant what do ya got to lose lol. plus he was running for 45 mins im sure he had plenty of gas when it started and the helicopter joined the chase for the 2nd part. he had already run may as well go for it. dont know how he got caught again when he lost them for 10 mins, he shoulda been hiding somewhere.

I feel the same way when it comes to the reporting on motorcycle accidents. People die in car accidents all the time, yet when I bought my first bike everyone thought I was nuts and had a death wish. Sure, you're much more likely to actually die if you get into an accident to when you get on a bike, but the news makes people think it's inevitable. The way I look at it, you can get hit by a bus walking across the street.

ehh its just a general perception by the public really, not the news ppl's fault. our bikes look fast and are fast and dont offer any protection so ppl are always gonna think of them as dangerous, and theyre right. even when i see an exotic sports car i assume that dude drives it real fast, so its no wonder that ppl have it in their head when they see a bike that were prob doing something illegal.

class B felony will get you 3 1/2 to 7 years max, you have your life to lose, and all the other people you might hit.

Don't get me wrong, most of us have run at one point....... but as you get older and hopefully wiser, you know if the chase isn't over in 2 min, you're going to get caught...especially out that way where they have air support and flat land.... in New England, things are different.

Re: this is how we get bad names.

So what's the point of this thread? Are you complaining because people generally stereotype bikers as bad and crazy? Would you really want it any other way? I think it would suck if sportbikes had the same rep as some more docile hobbies. Can you imagine; "Go riding? **** that I'm gonna go play ping pong!....Hell Yeah!!"

Re: this is how we get bad names.

the news sucks, the guy on the bike is a retard , cops who use this instance as a reason to harass us should go kill themselves, whenever i feel like topping out one of my bikes i have a plan and get off the highway asap not just keep riding around aimlessly

I'm pretty sure that stunting and or racing or even just riding sportbikes will NEVER be in the same category as ping pong lol or any other hobby. The point of the thread is running from cops. Running from the cops isn't smart anyways but there ARE dumb ways of doing so, and staying on a freeway long enough for the cops to get airsupport is definately a retarded move. Unless in my case you have a plane watching you from the getgo. Then your fucked lol highway or not.

How true.

Did u see in the end of the video how they hadn't been chasing bikes for a while since one cop killed another cop while they were trying to lay down a trap. How ****** retarded is that? Over here the city has a "no chase" policy. It doesn't stop them much these days. They took it seriously for a while cuz a cop ran into a street sweeper and killed the guy and himself.
I think the problem is it's usually some young punk on a bike that thinks he's invincible who doesn't want a ticket running from another young punk that thinks he's invincible behind the wheel of a cop car.
