hi i called him and he says it need a top end rebuild ..... is this a good buy or a rip off waiting to happen

Sounds like a rip off,especially when he said"this is a typical top end rebuild like on many stunt bikes" like it's some type of regular maintence...the dudes full of ****,this ain't no easy dirt bike top end fix,I think he's tryin to scam ya,I wouldn't give him that much for it if it don't run.if you take care of these bikes they don't blow up easily.

 

for the price of 950 a top end rebuild will run you more like 500 realisticly save up some more money and buy a f4i for cheap **** a 95 gsxr they suck its more then that that needs work trust me its going to fail engine wise again becuse the older gixxer motors are garbage and its not typical of a stuntbike to be ridden at high rpms unless youre not doing bp whellies so the rider beats the **** out of a bike thats prone to mechanical faliure in short dont buy it save your money sell your 250 get a f4i for 1800-2500 you can get a zx6r or a cheap f4i with stunt parts way better bikes

 

I would say no, those bike are notorious for spinning main bearings anyway. id stay away from gsxr's, i had that body style and went threw 3 motors in a summer street riding, thats just my

 

i would be carefull with that it will proly need a new motor but if you do go that way make sure its not stolen an see what else is wrong with it an see if you can get him for more ohh by the way ive herd the gixxers kinda suck as stunt bikes kaus thay break a lot from what ive herd but ive never owned one so take it your own way kaus some people like'em

 

i would say nope dont buy it just wait and save a lil dough up and get a set up f4i or 636...those older bikes are junk anyways

no one said gsxr's make bad stunt bikes...they said OLD gsxr's make bad stunt bikes cuz they have horrible motors...i ride an 06 gsxr

 

people always make things out to be less of a big deal than what it is. like the clutch will be completely fried and people will say "most likely just needs an adjustment"
the golden rule for problems is, nothings ever easy. and 200 bucks for a top end rebuild? yeah right, at what shop? the thing probly needs a whole new motor and thats a terrible bike to be stunting. but it is doable, i learned on a gsxr. that bike is not worth the sweat off your ***** but if you can get it for that then its a good deal and then when you get an f4i youll appreciate it more.

 

just get an f4i. dont buy that ****. its carbs and you want a fuel injected.

 

the only reason i would buy it is to have another bike
