Pop pop click

Hey guys. I have an 03 636 with 07-08 forks on it. Running the 07-08 brake calipers, 05 rotors, and the stock triples. When I get on the brakes and the forks compress there is a lot of clicking and popping. Any ideas what it may be? As far as I know everything is tight, I think it is internal to the forks. The seals are not blown, so does anyone have any ideas what could be causing all the racket?

Re: Pop pop click

I actually thought they were pretty stiff, I may just crank them down next time I go to the lot to experiment.

Re: Pop pop click

It's not just the bolts, but also the adjustment castle nut things. Don't over-tighten them, but make sure they are somewhat snug against the motor.

Re: Pop pop click

So check to see if the cage is tight, if it is remove it and make sure those guys are tight... sounds like a plan. After that I will try steering stem.

no just tighten em lol. i had mystery noise on my 05 636 for like a month and id shake the **** out of my cage to see if it was loose and it felt tight. i retorqued the bolts anyway and the noise went away. i forget what the torque specs are but i think i used to use around 36 ft lbs.
