thumb throttle

I was just wondering how many people out there actually rock the thumb throttle. Everyone who sees mine has no idea what to think of a thumb on a bike but i love it. Didnt know if anyone else on here still used one.

Re: thumb throttle

im still new to bikes, but i love it for what i have been doing so far... I rode quads all along so going to twist was tough for me, i feel like i have alot more control with thumb. A few of my friends tried it out and once they got used to it they loved it...but they still run twist.

Re: thumb throttle

Iv looked into a dual throttle set up. Twist and thumb for quads. That would give the rider more options. I have a tendency to grip tight and lock my wrist (boxing) so I figured the thumb throttle would b nice.
I think I could use one for a raptor on my gixxer but 170$ is out of my range for just an experiment.
Ive heard of guys running a second thumb throttle on the center of the bar above the tree. Who does that? It makes sense that u would grip at the neck and want throttle control for crazy circle variations or chicken wing scrappers and stuff like that. (**** I cant pull.)
I donno but I dig trick one off parts and out of the ordinary set ups like that.
post sum links to a vid or even post a vid of sumone killin it w the mid mount throttle set up pwees.

Re: thumb throttle

yeah, my 2nd F2 had a thumb throttle on it when i bought it... unfortuneatly i had to ride it home... 2 hrs from where i bought it.... I ripped that thumb throttle off so fast when i got home, my thumb was so tired after only like 45 min of riding, i was reaching over with my left arm and pushing the thumb throttle down on the highway!! lol... love them and wish i could ride with one ( rode quads for along time) but on a bike i just dont like it, too stiff, sensitive for me, and icky!

Re: thumb throttle

if your looking to get one i would check out bill D's set up.... i forget what he took his off of.

Id be curious to try it. I rode a lot of quads and snowmobiles & even jet ski's my entire life so it would be cool to try it out.
