Tiller Help?

I was referred to GMO's forum by Suomy16, he said that I should come over here and ask about TLR stunts, anyone give me a hand?

The origonal post read: Anyone have any tips on Stoppies/Rollin' Endo's with a TL1000R? The damn thing needs a diet as is, fekking heavy...... Anyways, my stoppies only make it up a few inches if at all because the front tire ends up sliding out front, and sometimes it *does come up those couple inches and it *then it wants to skid... hmm.... And as for wheelies, I've heard tales of the TL1000S being a beast when it comes to Wheelies, any hints at wheelies with the R? The only thing I have attempted is whacking the throttle open from about 1/3rd of the way through the tach in second gear(mainly because I was told NOT to attempt Wheelies in 1st with it because the TL's like to loop over in 1st) not sure if maybe Ishould just stick to working on the other stunts and leavin' both wheels on the ground with this pig of a bike. Had a '92 CBR600F2 that I put a '97 F3 engine in, bumped sprockets, kevlar lines... The damn thing liked to lift both ends, prolly on account of the gearing as a result of the sprockets, not to mention you could pick it up like a toy it was so light, compared to the TL... But I totally dig the TL anyways, though I've noticed that I don't think I've seen one person on here list one as thier Piece(( which I now take back since I have looked over GMO's forum, 99TILLER))... eh, ah well... If anyone could help?

OK I've Ryden a tiller and have been able to whoolie it and pull endo's with ease....not really sure what you're doing thats causeing the front to lock up on ya....My boy does huge endoes on a damn busa. Anyhow as for the whoolies...use a lil cluth pull in second to get the front up...TLR's are easy to whoolie....just takes time.

I took out a 99 TLR when the owner wasn't looking and found it a pretty good performer as far as stoppies. The extra weight almost made it easier to balance, I didn't get to wheelie it before the onwer got back, but I have seen that bike be wheelied and shifted through a couple of gears---just make sure to take off your seat cowl (right 99Tiller ) . BigDad can also been seen in the CMO video rollin some distance wheelies on his TLR and I htink there are some shots of TLR's doing stunts on the GMO homepage, just keep at it and put a really sticky front tire on it for easier stoppies

Thankya's, and I'll work on it some more... Stickier tire I may check on, damn dunlop on there right now and I'll play with the clutch some In 2nd, as I said, I'd only tried rollin' it on hard from about 1/4-1/3 way to max. Thanx for the input!

Lightbulb Yep...

Yep - a TL-R will wheelie and do stoppies - one of our boys (Jeff) used to stunt a TL-R, he rolled some good endos with it. Big Dad also used to keep a TL-R as his precious pet, enjoying long wheelies through many-a-gear (check out our video). Anyway, if you're skidding the front tire make sure your transfering your weight forward and squatting the front suspension smoothly with the brakes before flinging up the ***-end - if you grab the brake to quickly you'll skid no matter what tire you got on front - sticky rubber does help though. As for wheelies - practice clutching in 1st and 2nd or bouncing into a stand-up - you'll get it. Be safe. Peace

Right on, thankya's I'll play with it some more. How'd your cowl get broke 99TILLER? Not a weight bearing piece I take it? And I'll look for that video as well.

One of the guys we ride with switched up with me ... i grabbed his Erion 929 and he took off on the Tiller .... 1/2 mile later hes riding along holding the cowl... he snapped up a wheelie and slid into it and broke the mounts underneath... he was gonna buy me a new one... except he totaled his bike the following day when a lady cut him on our last ride of teh season... broken femur, wrist, punctured lungs, helmet flew off on impact and laid in the road...sucked... ride safe everyone...bike parts are replaceable.....your life isnt!!
