Re: C4-revolutions.com Subframe change 636

I guys I didnt know I was going to get so much talk over this thread.

To let everyone know this is the complete truth I do use a type of steel that is mad by the military and I have to get it threw a friend that works for lockeed martin. It is $96.00 + shipping for one subframe but this is why the C4 sub only is 8 lbs and not 16 lbs like all the other companys of there. Then all the laser cutting with all the brackets and bending is another $99.00. I have to get it done I dont have a laser cutter in my shop like others. So thats about $200.00 before welding gas, wire, Powder coating and shipping. Well I would say I make about $150.00 off each sub. It takes about a day to make a sub with all the bending and welding. I would say for how much I have to sell them for that is not the best profit. But I will not cut corners and make something that is just throne together.

I do this for you guys trust me you done know what it takes but thats ok I like what I do.

Know about the rear sets this I do a better profit on. I have to make some money so that I can keep making parts for you all. But I do give you the rear sets for a better price then any other rear sets out there. But I have to make something or I will have to stop making stuff.

I just wanted to let you all know This is not for everyone. So I hope there is no more talking back and forth from all you guys. No hate ok thanks.

It dose not cause a problem with anything.

To make the sub strong on the rear seat section the tubing now runs from the frame back to the rear seat. You will have to trim 1/4 inch off the rear seat bump stops.
Being that this is the last sub you will have to buy this should not be a problem. So thats it some slight trimming takes about 10 mins and you get the strongest subframe out on the market. All the 05-06 636 subframes will be made like this from now on.

Subframe comes with all mounting hardwhere and trimming instructions. Powder coated black.

On a lighter note what are the thoughts on having to trim the box and rear seat a little bit ? Is this worth it for how strong we have made this sub. Thanks need comments.

Yes it is worth it if some one cant trim some useless plastic and do a lil mod work on the seat then they should give up the sport.

Its ok man. Most people dont know what extra steps we take and how much money those extra steps cost. But that is why people are liking what we do.

Feel free to ask any questions directly I will tell you the truth. Thanks

Its all in that steel that I make them out off stuff is costly but damn strong. Did you know the steel I use is very thin wall but is as strong as 1/8 wall thickness this is how The C4 stuff is so light but still strong.

Also if you like my bike parts you should see my paint work.

Re: C4-revolutions.com Subframe change 636

We at C4-revolutions are always working on not only coming out with new product but also we are always looking to better the product we already make. So we have looked at the 05-06 636 subframe again and to make that fitment that much better we have made some changes so the sub.

This is the new design

The back is cleaner looking and the seat plate raps around for better look and makes it stronger and keeps rust out of the inside of the sub.

New frame mounting tabs this make your install so much better and lets you use all your stock hardware.

New weld on threads lets your use your stock footpegs or any subcage.

This is how the new 636 subframes will be made from now on.

Re: C4-revolutions.com Subframe change 636

I purchased 3 of these subframes for all of my bikes. Dave's an awesome guy to deal with. I got the original version. I only got to use it a couple times before it started snowing and i do not regret buying these at all. Strong product and well worth the money. My only complaint which I never told dave about, was how the subframe mounted to the frame and how the subcage mounted to it. I had to get different bolts for the subcage and unfortunatly I dont have a spacer anymore for them like the stock ones. So the more I step on the pegs the more grinding happens and bigger the hole for the bolt on the subcage gets.

But it looks like he figured out that problem and the new ones hes making now should have no problem.

Long story short. Great Business, Great Product, Fair Price, Great Customer service.
