not sure if anyone has tried this but I'm sure someone has or can find info on it somehow. So I want to see if anyone tried putting newer gsxr forks on a 636? Since they are both 50mm they will slide right in the triples but the front wheel is where I can find it to be a prob since I want to use my 05 636 wheel. I would think you could just mess with spacers and maybe bearings to ge tthis to work right. I have both front ends complete so I figure there has got to be a way to make this work right and not riged up.

 

theres a lot of things that need to match up.....
i did something similar my old 900rr i had for about 4-5 months, but everthing was honda (just different models) not different manufactures. i think i still have a small box with a bunch of spacers and bearings from random bikes. just let me know if you want to try some out to see if they help.

ALSO**** check with John Legion...... i think i remeber hearing he was running gsxr forks on his 03 or 04 636 (but i think it was with the gsxr wheel, calipers, rotors aswell)

theres a lot of threads on here with peeps using newer gsxr forks or front ends on f4i's. if you search them out, but they prob wont help much.

the 08 front end off that gixxer should work, but i dont know about the whole using your 636 wheel. Id say put it on and see where u need spacing.

I think the gsxr front end is like 2inches shorter then the 636 too

 

I got 07 08 zx6r,polished forks, axle, and spacer if you have to much trouble....lol

 

i do know 04-05 gsxr forks will not work. altough the clip on diameter is 50mm on the 636 and the gsxr is the same the lower portion of the forks which goes into the triple is bigger. not sure if you can swap the trips bearings and races from the gsxr to the 636 as a whole clip. the front wheel should work in your forks if u use the gsxr front axle and spacers. the only major differance is the rotors are bigger on the gix. you will need to shim the calipers out about 5mm or so. the benefit of this is the more stopping power gained due to the big rotors. good luck and hope this helped a little. oh yea my boy has this exact Frankenstein set up on his 03-04 so i know that it will work with 04-05 gsxr ****
