GSX'R Opinions
Have the chance to pick up a 2000 gix 6000 for 1200$ . I know alot of people say they are garbage and the frames suck, but does anyone have any good experiences with them? Will it hold up for a year or two of stuntin. I need some pros and cons to help make my decision. It has 12,000 miles on it and the frame and forks are good and clean title. What you think guys?

Re: GSX'R Opinions
Hi Ive run one for two years and its fine.25,000 miles now.
The frame will crack at the front were the rad scoop bolts in but it takes some time and can be easly plated and welded.
The clutch can be a little hard for some people as it works on a worm gear but its ok with an ez pull.
Spares are cheap and cross over with lots of other gsxr's.
FI cages pop the gen' casing.
thats about it realy I bought it to learn on and still ride it now (though ive a k5 750 that im biulding up
)
Hope this helps a bit.

Re: GSX'R Opinions
anything with a clean title for that price is worth stunting.....the only problems i had with my 03 was the tabs where the sub frame bolts to the main frame broke and def have to put an oil pick up in it for sure
Re: GSX'R Opinions
Iv had an 01 and an 02 gixxer for about 2 1/2 years w minimum issues. The side of the frames dent easily but theyv been holding up pretty well. Def the subframe tabs are an issue. Smack 12 alil hard and they blow to pieces. Make sum subframe straps and it should b fine. I just stripped mine down and started fabbing a steel sub frame. Stuntex oil pick up is a good idea for sure but that goes for almost any bike that u intend on keepin up on 1.
I hate the 905 cages on this chassis. When u drop the bike on the 905 cage it always lands right at the bend and bows the fukr out. PITA to get off and worse gettin back on. Powers is prolly the best choice.
Power comes on pretty quick and pulls hard but I really like the feel of the bike. Seems real stable and inspires confidence. IMO Another plus is most of the parts on most gixxer models are interchangeable, cheap and easy to get ahold of.
FYI 2000 model is carbed.
Hope this info helps u out and I hope u like the bike. I luv mine FTW

Re: GSX'R Opinions
I love my 06, my roommate loves his 04, my other roommate loves his 08. All have held up well, except the first 08... but it was a 1k. It didn't like looping out at 80 mph. Also, Team Famous stunts all Gixxers and they hold up really well
