one more question guess I'm kinda confused what exactly your stay replaces.. but do you need the ram air duct anymore?? because where the 4 bolts bolt to the square part of the frame is where mine broke when i wrecked.

 

No you dont need the ram air duct, it replaces both the plastic OEM ram air duct and the OEM cast aluminum gauge stay. It bolts to your frame, holds the headlight, the upper, the windscreen and the gauges

hey johnny u think u could fab up a custom lower triple for my 03 636 that will fit my r1 forks..

 

Why not just make a stem or mod the 636 stem to fit the R1 bottom triple? A custom one off bottom triple is not going to be cheap!

 

i think i might actualy try modding the stem to fit the r1 tripple cuz i know that one fits the forks perfect. right now i have my stock 636 tripple bored out to fit the fork..

Can you run clip ons on top or with a Hohey triple? And still get ful turn angle? I love how you make the mounting points at the frame drop down to make room for cables... to go over and not scrape!!

 

It all comes down to where you cut your upper, if you need something shorter to gain more clearance I can make a custom length one for you. Just need 2 measurements once you have your upper cut to where you need it...

 

i was told 1mm and thats what i told the machine shop. but i think he went 1.5 mm....

 

Im pretty sure R1 forks are 54mm so it would be 1mm off the radius of the 52mm clamps.

If it was only 1mm more in the diameter then all you would need is a 09 ZX6R bottom triple, because those are 1mm larger in diameter for the forks compared to 03-08 triples...If its 2mm you could still use a 09+ triple, and then you would only have to bore it out .5mm

03-08 are 52mm

09-10 are 53mm

yes the r1 forks are 54 mm.. so with that said ur saying an 09 triple would work perfect for my forks or are u saying i would need to bore that triple .5mm out. i was confused on this when doing the swap. but everyone was saying that 1mm more is all u need even tho the forks had a 2mm in diameter difference..

FTI made my friend a custom billet bottom triple for his 954 a few years ago, it was really nice but he payed like $350 for it and waited a very long time for it to be made...
