vortex are 11'', FIs came in both 10 and 11.
Go with 11'' and push it through the clamp if you want your bars closer together, thats how mine is, about an inch pushed into the clamp.

i would say if ur cutting your own, make them an even foot long and run them out as far as you want...
edit: btw i just measured a new vortex bar right out of the package that i was installing on my stuntbike... 11" for the metal bar, the plastic plugs add another .5"
