Awesome New Website! MUST SEE

It's finally here. The website you've been waiting for if you're in the motorcycle industry. Check it out for yourself, it's pretty sweet.

Re: Awesome New Website! MUST SEE

I love it when people try to set up their own site with some generic software that offers absolutely no new functionality and they think it's gonna blow up and make them rich

You couldn't even pay a graphic designer to create a new theme in order to make it somewhat stylized

Re: Awesome New Website! MUST SEE

It just launched the other day and it is FAR from generic, trust me. It's a heavily modified probid framework with a few powerful back end features that make it completely unique. There are about to be 20+ thousand items on there to kick it off....and they offer riders a GENEROUS sponsorship program. They also offer users a way to earn money by signing up other productive users, but if you're not into making money that's cool too...Some people hate seeing other's do big things. Personally, I'm excited and I'll be sitting back waiting to say I told you so...

The software itself is generic. You installed it, didn't add any new functionality and couldn't even change the theme. Therefore you have some generic software with nothing really original or particular to your site besides the 10 or so motorcycle parts listed on there.

Where are you getting 20+ thousands items? I see a total of like 10.

I like how you say "they" as if you aren't a part of this.

Hang in there...There is a 19,000 item ebay salvage shop being converted over as we speak with multiple others in line, and that's just what I can say at this point.

It's free but only if you sign up other users? Otherwise you pay per auction, or you sign up for the $399 yearly membership? Nice false advertising

I do software development for a living you moron, I'm very familiar with the process.

I like how you are trying to say it's not generic software, it's a framework! Frameworks provide generic functionality, that is their purpose. But semantics are pointless here and not the point.

You've bought and installed this software/framework/whatever you want to call it from www.phpprobid.com. You haven't changed anything about it or "developed" anything, it's just some bone stock auction software with a few motorcycle items listed on it. There is nothing special about this. We have ebay, we have craigslist, we have stuntlife and stuntride, this is filling no voids. It's not original enough of an idea and has nothing to build or sustain an active community of users.

I wish you the best, homie.
Again, this site fills no voids and doesn't help anyone keep their profits, it is just a half-assed attempt to put some money in your pocket.

I hate to tell you kid, but you're just wrong. You should get your facts straight before you start trying to call people out. What you think about the site really doesn't matter. I will say that you have a lot to learn about what you're trying to do for a living.

Considering I my self own a motorcycle salvage business and peronally know of several other motorcycle salvage shops spending in the upwards of $60,000 per year in ebay fees I think $399 per year sounds like an amazing alternative.

Look at craigslist, it doesnt get much more plain and nonfuctional than that. Who cares if it has generic coloring from the original site? It still does all the fnctions needed.

I think you are missing the point. With this site you have no risk! You list whatever you want and if it sells awesome, you pay a selling fee half of what ebays selling fee is. If it doesnt sell, who cares, you didnt pay anything to list it anyway.

It is the perfect mix between ebay and craigslist. Dont hate because nothing you have programed has ever amounted to anything.

Think about how many websites are created from a basic "generic" framework! For example Stuntlife and Stuntride. Obviously you spend a lot of time on these. 4173 posts? get a life.

Re: Awesome New Website! MUST SEE

Think about how often you see threads on here about people getting dicked over by someone who didnt pay or didnt send the part or whatever! Why wouldnt the person selling it want to protect themselves better and again the buyer want to make sure hes actually going to get something for his money? But all at the same time not have to give half your profit from your part to ebay with their rediculous fees.

I'm not saying generic software never works. I'm saying that in this case, this generic auction software fills no voids and has no reason for users to come use it.

Stuntlife was one of the stunt forums around, that's why it worked. Stuntride is ran and pushed by some of the top dogs in motorcycle stuntriding, that's why it's working. If some no name went out and bought mystuntforum.com and put up a vbulletin messageboard, no, it wouldn't work. That is what this guy is doing here.

Re: Awesome New Website! MUST SEE

Voids? What other voids couldnt it possibly fill? Its advantage over Ebay is the no risk, no listing fees. Its advantage over craigslist is functionality and purpose while still having auctioning availabilities and worldwide access. Its advantage over selling on forums is that there is some protection for and from both parties.

Maybe Im missing something or I just have common sense.
