regarding kid injured at gearfest
So I was finally able to get the name and address of the child that was hit at gearfest. For those of you who dont know, a 5 year old little boy was injured when a bike lost control and hit the "protective barrier" which was actually no more than bicycle fencing. He was just released from the hospital yesterday with a "common break" and severe bone splintering at the breaking point in his femur. He spent his 6th birthday in the hospital on the 23rd.
Todd and I are going to be sending him some DVDs, posters, get well card and some other stuff. If anyone else is interested in sending ANYTHING that could help especially keep him occupied while he is stuck in bed for the next month or two please let me know and I will give you the address and info.

I bet the 6 year old will be HOOKED on bikes now 
I got ran over by one at 6 & got burned pretty good & I've been hooked ever since.
Hope he heals fast & gets a 50!!!

He wont be mobile by then and will be on a ton of meds but hoping to do something similar by january. also, Its about an hour and a half drive for them which would probably be rough. They said he could be immobile for up to 3 months depending on how the bone heals where it is all splintered. I guess its really complicated considering his age and future growth.

we were talking about this on the way home, either he will be terrified of bikes or want one, the mom wont let him have one, and the dad of the kid got bitched out by the mom for bringing them to the event to begin with.
