Im Trying to Decide......

Keep the f4i or the 06 636? I got a 636 on a whim not sure what I was going to do with it, It has no stunt parts on it. My f4i.....set up perfect. I like the power and the precision of the 636s but I love the f4i.

I need some input on the 05-06 636 as a reliable stuntbike...maybe you can help me decide...stick with the f4i or build the 636.

I heard the motors dont take the abuse like an 03 04 636 or an f4i...confirm or deny.....

THANK YOU!

Re: Im Trying to Decide......

I have an 05 and would not trade it for the world i have it set-up...I love it ill stock pile motors before i bought another stunter. thats just me. Ive rode f4i's and its just not my 636. i vote build the 636. my 636 has dealt with me as a learner and as an advanced rider. It has seen the limiter plenty of times and took it like a champ. I think my 636 has only overheated like 4-5 times ever. Not like my friends bikes.

Re: Im Trying to Decide......

Unfortunately i cant keep both...I would need to sell the f4i to buy parts for the 636 but would make money on the whole thing....I just dont want to get rid of the f4i and have the 636 blow up on me...then I would be out $.....

Re: Im Trying to Decide......

stunt the f4i and ride the 636 around town. call up j-jones and ask him what happened with his after a so-called reliable source swapped the motor with a bad gear for one with a good gear. better yet, holla at a. flores he'll give u the solid scoop....

Re: Im Trying to Decide......

Ditch the F4i and ride the kawi... Just get some spare motors and subframes. I rode Jesse Tolers new 05-06 636 for 10 min and I went and put my f4i back in the truck for the day Ill be switching to a lighter bike in the VERY near future

Re: Im Trying to Decide......

fasho!

u kno the gig man, f4i will never quit on you, it just may be time for you to quit on it.

if u go 636 better get a subframe or 2

i rode one a few weeks ago with minimal gearing and all the ho hey big rotor goodies....it makes f4i feel like an old pig. but it also has that fragile feel about it...if i had tank circs on lock id get one fur sure.....

plus it gives u an automatic entry to the XDL show.....haha

Re: Im Trying to Decide......

i'd say stick with the f4i. if you had a 03 or 04 636 i'd tell you go with that though. i know i was told tall ppl are better with f4i.

get rid of the f4i and ride the 636just start stockpiling spare transmission parts in case you have gear problems....BTW ive NEVER had problems with mine but it def. has a weaker subframe than my 03-04's but its the smoothest, lightest, nicest feeling bike ive EVER ownedhope this helps

Re: Im Trying to Decide......

dont know about the 05 motor issue, but i rode an 05 before i rode an 04 and loved it, power was there, idle was better than the f4i, the engine brake was crazy but smooth, tank kinda sucked though. but i recently retired my f4i for an 03-04 zx600rr and it feels way more powerful and lighter than my f4i. i say if you learned the basics and dont destroy bikes then go for it. as for me i still kinda beat my bikes up but i would rather replace the frame or rebuild my motor then have to ride my f4i agian.im not sure why they call the f4i a cheater bike my kawi is so much more smoother for clutching in and out of stuff and the no bog is awesome. drifting seemed easier too with the extra horsepower.

Re: Im Trying to Decide......

stoppies are better too on my kawi, i got a local spot where i struggled to role 150ft at balance point on the honda, and the first day on the kawi i plowed it no problem LOL.
