05-06 636 Sub Brace Version 2.0

Ok so I went at it again...my old brace had a weak spot and didn't last long. So check this out-I had to cut the relay box bracket partially off the subframe, to make room for this brace to run from the wheelie bar all the way down to the passenger peg mounts. I used ALL existing mount points on the wheelie bar. I only drilled 2 holes by the passenger seat to bolt that cross brace down. What do yall think. Combined with the OMR subcage, this thing is solid as a *****! Figure these pics might help someone out there to build one-these subframes are crap.

i was actually looking at buying one of those but the problem I see with that design is the very end where your wheelie bar bolts in. There needs to be cross bracing or an x-pattern or something back there where its single square. The single square tube of steel will NOT take the weight of the bike on the bar well-I guarantee that.

Re: 05-06 636 Sub Brace Version 2.0

my brace distrubutes energy to the wheelie bar bolts, the cross brace bolts, down to both passenger peg bolts and through the subcage where its strong.

more distribution=less chance of snapping kind of like the SI 3 point cage design distributes energy to 3 points on each side

Re: 05-06 636 Sub Brace Version 2.0

easiest way to do it is to take your sub off the bike completely, measure, adjust, cut and clamp the steel straps where you want them to go on the sub so you can tack them quick, un clamp the piece, and weld it up solid then continue. takes a little bit of time, but all the holes line up perfect.
