R6 smokning its nuts off
R6 smokning its nuts off
i have a 04 r6 it it smokes its *** off every time i start it when its cold then after i ride it for like 5 min it goes away after it warms up iam thinking it is the valve seals my not to sure..... any one else ever had this happen???
Re: R6 smokning its nuts off
no it deff oil and valve seals are the only thing i can think of its like oil is dripin pass the seals when its cold and the when i start it theres oil in the cylender(s) and then when it warms up every thing expands and then no more drip/smoke but idk
Re: R6 smokning its nuts off
some times you get oil in your air box that will make the bike smoke , if this is the case you should do the clean air mod , open your airbox and see if there is any oil residue in there
Re: R6 smokning its nuts off
no omr u deff are the smartest man alive... you where right there is like a 1/8inch in there your my hero..... clean air mod heard of it but how u do it?????
Re: R6 smokning its nuts off
you basically bypass your air box so oil cant get in it, there will be a crank case vent tube going into your air box and the a another tube going from you air box to your pair valve , connect the two and disable the pair valve by unplugging it ...
the pair valve will either be vacuum operated or electric , if it's vacuum operated just unplug the vacuum line and plug it and if it's electric just unplug it ..
and dont forget to block off the holes left in your airbox from the vent tubes ..
this mod will vent the crankcase directly to your exhaust ports instead of your air box , it may still smoke some times but wont hurt any thing this way , the stock set up can cause you to hydro lock and destroy your motor because the oil gets in your combustion chamber and oil doesnt compress
