Stunt Bike: 06 CBR600RR vs. 00 GSXR750?

So I sold my ZZR and right now am looking at these two bikes to turn into my stunter. Yes I know neither are a 636 or F4i, but they are both under $3k. So here is the bikes:

2006 CBR600RR:
already set up for stunting, (3/4 fairings)
street fighter front end,
ez pull clutch,
48 tooth sprocket,
bas dual idle adj,
dented in gas tank,
stuntaid cage.

2000 GSXR750:
Street fighter front end, (no fairings)
protaper dirtbike bar,
yoshi "shorty" pipe.

So here's the deal, the CBR is running a bit odd, has almost a ticking sound, which the owner thinks is a stuck injector? prolly not something too hard to figure out and repair, but I'm not a honda guy either so a bit iffy. But only $3k.
The GSXR runs good, isn't as great of a deal pricewise, but will try to get bike down to around $2k to $2500.
For the price if I get either at the price I offer i'll be happy, but need stunter advice to see which bike is "set up" better to stunt. The Gix will prolly need a sump pickup, and a cage. and the CBR will just need the ticking fixed.
Let me know what you think. Thanks guys.

dude Honda all the way sounds like the pump so you might need a new one nothing to crazy a 750 is not at all a perfered stuntbike nowadays and it doesnt have as many parts on it as the cbr and no cage or sprocket but the only other bikes like you stated that are better is a f4i and a 636 so go with honda they are awsome bikes thier subframes arent as strong as others but with a subcage youll be strait

Thanks for the input.
Yeah, I've been telling myself the CBR is a better deal. But was split because if I get the Gix for $2k it would be hella cheap. I got $4200 out of my ZZR so I got some cash to play with, but also got bills. So figure get a stuntpiece for $3k and use the other money for bills.

true. The stuntaid cage seems to bolt up a bit different than most. I think they change their name to AStunt? but it has no sliders or anything. just the bars covering the case covers. i'll be looking into getting an OMR subcage an a handbrake set up over winter. finances... btw, aren't most people just draggin pipe for 12's on the CBR?

the ticking, may be the cam chain tensioner.

check the right side of the motor, while reviing it it should sound like a can of bb's rolling around on the decel of the motor.

Mines a bit noisy

+1

had the same issue on my 03, noticed it a few days after i first got it, put about 5k miles on it without any issues, its a common problem on the 600rr.

theres a big difference size wise between teh 2 bikes as well..
the gixx i would say has a bigger tank and feels bigger but the rr is more nible and easier to throw around..

iono but for the $$$ get the RR fix it flip it and get something else

Re: Stunt Bike: 06 CBR600RR vs. 00 GSXR750?

i stunted a 00gxr for 6yrs and a rr for 2yrs. 1st the gxr frame will crack. i prefer the rr , not as much power as a gsxr but if you are stunting thats not the issue

Re: Stunt Bike: 06 CBR600RR vs. 00 GSXR750?

Thanks for the input guys.
I decided against the gix.
there is a new bike in contention now though...
so its the 06 cbr vs. 03 636.
again the rr is stunted out minus the handbrake.
the 636 has been down twice. both sides have some damage to the plastics and the case covers. stator cover has very minimal damage (gravel or dirt laydown?) and the clutch cover looks to have been layed down in a road, some good scratchs to the bottom but not deep enough to cause any issues.
the biggest issue is the tank is wobbly. there doest look to be any dents or scratchs, but the hinge looks damaged. it causes the tank to be pushed down from side to side. anyone with a 636 know what could be causing this and how much it is to fix?
pretty much i can get both bikes for $3k.
which one will i have to put less money into to be a reliable stunter?

oh and the tank should be an easy fix, theres one uh "pivot bolt" i guess you could call it and 2 more bolts that mount the tank on each side, unless the actual tabs that the "pivot bolt" goes thru are broken, it should be an easy fix.

yeah the the mounting holes on the tank could be damaged but its really not hard to replace a gas tank dude, just get one with the pump still in it.
