newbie stunter needed some feedback

Well I finally got a stunter..Its an 02 f4i has cage ,12 bar, rear hand brake,+18 in rear.

I decided to start by doing slow wheelies.. Cant seem to get used to the crazy sprocket.

But any advice to start me off..

Ok so riding the wheelies is throttle and the rear is only if you go over to far.

Re: newbie stunter needed some feedback

  1. get brake control down, and lowering the gearing will make learning easier on your and your bike,.
  2. if your foot brake or handbrake is not second nature then that is what you should be praticing right now.
  3. once the brake is second nature / just about automatic..... work on your throttle control.
  4. then balance, technique, and consistancy

just keep practicing. the repitition will develop muslce memory over time. if you practice lots, you'll cut down the amount of time it takes.

Re: newbie stunter needed some feedback

One other thing I would like to add here is get someone to take pictures for you while your stunting. Kept hearing this and thought at first they just wanted to see the pictures of me crashing. When you see what feels like your at balance point on camera you will find your not even close.

Another trick that I have to give Armenian (Alvin) credit for teaching me is called *** drag. You know how the roads have the expansion joints in them? Stop your bike right at the start of one with your left foot on the ground in the sit down position and your right foot on the break. Clutch it up hard enough that your 12 o'clock'n your bike before you get to the next expansion joint while leaving your left foot down on the ground to help keep your balance or step off the back and bail if ya have to. This worked really fast for me like within a couple of days I was able to 12 my bike and park it on the 12 bar.

No. Slow wheelies are all brake control. You turn your idle up clutch up past balance point then ride the brake. You should not even have to touch the throttle except to get back past bp.

I dont know..I can wheelie better with the r1...The slow speed just seems soo unbalanced..Im running around 19 psi in rear and when I clutch it it wobbles all over.
