Flipping your clip-ons How to???

Title says it all, how do you do it? Basically what it the easiest way to dissasemble and reassemble and is there anything special I need to do or not do aside from diving in with a socket wrench?

Thanks

Re: Flipping your clip-ons How to???

i dont know about the 600rr but on the 636 you simply flip the clipons upside down and put the left on the right and right on the left then you have to drill a shallow hole to keep your throttle in place ..

Don't think you can get them off without taking off the triple. . .almost positive.

Yeah, I'll pull the motor as soon as I get home Dr.

Looks like it, can I just pop it off or will it throw my front end out of wack? Worked on hot rods plenty, just starting on bikes and don't want to get stuck and not be able to ride my bike. I don't own a car or truck.

Here is a diagram and a pic of my clipon and the bridge.

Re: Flipping your clip-ons How to???

i dont have a set of 600rr clipons here in front of me to look at and i cant tell from your picture but if the clipons have the bars higher than the part that holds them to the fork flipping them may not make much of a difference ..

the angle will aim up but because of the rise it may lower them when flipped

Re: Flipping your clip-ons How to???

I'm sure there is someone on this forum that has flipped 600rr clip ons.. Hopefully someone will reply that knows how to for sure. But it's really not that difficult to figure out.

Re: Flipping your clip-ons How to???

Well, I have't flipped them yet, but I cut the tabs and pushed them out as far as they would go and it really did make a difference. More control in wheelies and stoppies. Going to flip them after a trip to Sears, gotta get a big enough socket for the top bridge nut. THanks guys

ya or just measure the hole thats in the right clipon for the distance from the end of the clipon but use the throttle tube to figure out how to clock it
