odometer??..

odometer??..

gotta friend that bought a busted up zx-6 and the guage cluster iz fucked and he wants to put it back on the road and sell it.. when he gets a new odometer will it say the miles from the old odometer or the milage from the new gauge cluster??

It will show whatever the new odometer has. He should just ask the last owner how many miles it had, and use that as a rough guess. or just get a new one and say **** it

im sure on it. I just picked up a new set of gauges off ebay for mine. the old gauges had stopped working and were cracked as ****. they had 18985 miles on there. Now it shows 10,300. looks so nice though lol

well unless you knew the miles and an cluster odometer company like from dealer i believe could set it to those miles, believe there is a tamper seal on joint of cluster, not sure on bike i know with cars that's the way it works

I know for sure on the R6 that there is no tamper seal. It is a digital display. The reason most cars have it is so you dont roll the dials. You cant just roll the dials on a digital readout unless you have a data link to it, and a program to edit it.

and i wont worry about a dealership. i will just tell the buyer it has 8700 miles on there than the odometer shows.

and if your not sure of the miles check the title that will give you a rough idea of what the old o.d has on it.
