i have to get surgery since its a comminution fracture. anybody have experience with a badly broken collar bone and any idea how much its gonna cost me? i got laid off a few months ago and my company was to small for me to qualify for cobra so i know its gonna hurt. my damm pants got caught on the kickstarter of my fiddy.

 

I have no idea what it's going to cost u, but im damn sure it's not going to be cheap bro. If it's shattered and there puttin pins and plates in there it's gonna get expensive. Best of luck man.

 

my brother had a broken collar bone and they just gave him a slingy to keep his arm up and in place ... nothing much besides that ... i guess depends how badly broken it is but collar bones u just gotta minimize ur arm movement and wait till it heals

 

yeah, my arm is in a sling right now but everytime i move i can feel the pieces of bone move around. i can position it a certain way and it feels like all the fragments are aligned when i run my finger over it but theres no way to lock my arm in that position. i dont think it would even heal if i dont get the surgery.

 

i broke my collarbone a few months back...i was on a sling for 1 month the first week if u move ur arm ur going to feel the bones rubbing.....dont move and for the first nights sleep sitting down that helps for the bone to heal but if it nees surgery then the best of luck for you
