waking up a 08 zx6r

So i bought a 08 kaw, set it up with all the parts and rode it today for the first time.... WHERE is the low end power??? first ill tell u whats done, stock exhaust, -1 front sprocket and 54t rear sprocket. Im assuming that im gonna need a power commander and exhaust but is that really gonna wake it up? Should i drop another tooth in the front? my bud hhas a 06 with exhaust power commander and the same gearing with a butt load more torque. What do u guys think? cause if i dont have to drop another $800 in to this thing i wont!

he already went at least 10 up ..what i would do if u still dont like it is,keep it as a streetbike or track bike or sell it and make money on it if you got a good deal..

Re: waking up a 08 zx6r

kawasaki forgot to install lowend power on the 07 08s..i dont think the performance gains downlow would be worth the costs of a pipe and pc...your best bet is more gearing...if its a stuntbike just put a huge sprocket on it,should bring the rpms up enough to pull harder when you give it gas on idle/midrange.

Re: waking up a 08 zx6r

That is the problem with them, no low end power. Bigger rear sprocket is your simple fix, everything else you are talking is way more money then a 80$ sprocket

yeah thats what i was getting at. ireally dont think that exhaust and pc would give you the power you want anyhow. but bigger thanjust 10 up on your sprocket will.

Re: waking up a 08 zx6r

i've got on 60 ont the rear that's up 17 and play with -2 and 1 up front. total +20-23. It helps and the max speed limit out here is 50 mostly less.

Re: waking up a 08 zx6r

i ride one every day, its got plenty of low end torque, you just gotta be in the right rpm, go with a 60tooth as well, don't drop the front any more, puts strain on the motor

Re: waking up a 08 zx6r

I just got an 09' monster ZX-6R, only thing that i've done is change the exhaust to a little megaphone to get some sound out of it. I was trying to get the front end up but i'm a pretty light guy and i sit forward pretty much against my tank. What size sprocket can i go on this bike that'll make everything just a whole lot easier?

Nothing is going to make it instantly easier for you - you need to learn how to actually wheelie.

Re: waking up a 08 zx6r

Play with the gearing more. If u choose a PC, it will help more than most of u know. U can add & remove fuel in parts of the rpm table to help with the low rpm torque gains. Research this in ur racing forums before u start blowing money u dont have to. Road racers are VERY **** people when it come to HP

But I ride an old outdated *** f4i that'll outrun most of ur Kawi's in a drag race anyday of the week so what do I know
