need some help with my dodge ram.

sorry for posting this on here but it gets the most veiws and i need urgent help please.

so i was out last night in my dodge ram. 2wd 2000 and pull up go to put it in park and it wouldnt go in at all? what the hell is that all about? everything else is good drives good and that but no park. just wont go in.

also you could have busted you parking paw. like if you slam it in to park still driving it will make a sort of banging sound thats what you could have snapped off.

it just feels like it wont go in at all it sucks. my mate said it could be the gear selector what you think by that?

could be the gear selector. or like omr said the linkage. maby you bent something and its not able to have its full range of motion when you shift.

craw under the truck unhook the cable or rod one of the 2. try shifting off the trans that will tell you if its in the trans or in the shift linkage. dont do it with out help you could get ran over or the truck could take off.
