Well im pretty sure that F4/F4i wheels are cast and then the edge/lip is machined. Thats what it seems to look like though.

So i find the general consensus to be cure powder at about 350 for 20 minutes even though cure temp would say 400 at 10min?

I did a set of 2007 1000RR wheels and didnt have any issues or hear any bad feedback about warping or bearings being loose....

to get the durability of powder coating out of automotive paint which is what most people are after...... you're easily looking at double the cost. Powder is a fraction of the cost of liquid material.

Yes, but I didnt know they used 6061 for casting, that is known for being a decent grade of aluminum........I thought they used a **** grade. Never really had any issues with jap wheels, perhaps that is why.

Try to keep your rims clean after you paint them white or any bright color for that matter. paint is junk and you cant use anything to strong to remove the grease from your chain and such or the paint will come right off on the rag.

Powder coat you can throw some carb n choke cleaner or brake cleaner on a rag and it wipes off in seconds.

I just powder coated a set of 07 600RR rims in white which were originally black so they needed a thick base to not show the black through and i know the guy that did them cooked them at 450 for 15 minute intervals and the rims came out better than paint and i never had a problem. About to do the same thing with my 06 636 rims in the next week or so

As they were saying above, don't let your guy cook them at 450 for like 40 mins... your guy was smart and did small intervals. Just be careful at high temps, I've heard that chroming wheels causes them to be brittle, but never powdercoating.
