Fiberglass Tank Dent????
Fiberglass Tank Dent????
Has anybody done it.... discovered the best method, and have pictures and techniques to share? I just got a nice race body kit for my RR and want to get the tank dent right before it goes off to get painted. Thanks for the help in advance.

Re: Fiberglass Tank Dent????
I would get some fiberglassing supplies.... PEPBOYS has a decent selection but im sure you can get a better price somewhere else.
I would use some party balloons or maybe a cheap ball from the giant bin at walmart and use that as a mold to make your dish, once you have that dish as a solid hard piece, you can cut it to the shape you want and affix it to the tank. I cant imagine it being that difficult, just use your noodle! I would get a can of "kitty hair" which is shredded f-glass, use that as filler with resin. sand it all down, bondo, then paint.
ha ha ha, you could use some cheese cloth and some plaster of paris and make a mold of you ***, then use that as a mold for your fiberglass. that would be the ticket.... custom *** dent!

Re: Fiberglass Tank Dent????
why are you wanting to fiberglass it in the first place...??? just cut the plastic cover on the tank in half so that the metal tank is showing and dent that in. then just paint it. that's what i did on my 06 RR. Re: Fiberglass Tank Dent????
That is a pretty good idea. I heard of some 600RR guys cutting the stock cover and flipping it. I appreciate the help, and am def looking into different options.
