who was the stunter that was an airline pilot?
just been thinking about it and remember seing a few old stunt vids and 1 of the stunters was an airline pilot but cant remember who it was does anyone remember?

if youve got the money for the training its well worth it. airline pilots are very well paid and have awesome benefits and retirement. in my research the training has to pretty much be paid for out of pocket and its expensive and takes quite a while to get the airtime required for licensing. if i could swing the costs, i wouldnt even think twice.

my voss has his own plane, says getting ur license runs about $4k now up from $1500 a few years back. he has a lil cessna(spelling?) but its a single prop 6 seater, actual airliner pilots im sure endure much more training though.
anyone see the news last night some fool left a service cart in front of a turbine engine n the **** got sucked off the ground and stuck in the opening for the fan??? that mess was nuts!!!!

You need 50 hours of flight training to get your license (or around 50 hours) I believe 30-40 of them hours are with a instructor, in the rest is solo cross country.
My dads instructor was $60/hr, and plane rental is usually $120/hr but he was in a club so $60/hr rental..
So $120/hr for 40 hrs = 4800 right there, then he still needs a extra 10 hours of flight time solo at 60/hr, and you STILL gotta pay for fuel..
He got his license about 8 years ago
Note thats to fly SMALL planes, not a airline pilot.
Btw I suggest anyone that has extra cash to blow, to take at least one pilots lesson

I took one for fun.. And I practically flew the plane the entire time, landed it a couple times on my own and took off..
The very first thing we did when we got in the plane, he let me taxi down to the runway (he talked to the tower) he let me get it on the runway, he set the flaps, put it to full power, and let go of the controls and said "rotate into the sky at 80knots"
Very first landing, same thing, he set the flaps, set the power, and let me control the landing.. Did a few touch and goes, flew around for a hour, then headed back in.
Btw this was when I was around 14 years old!

ur way off on that buddy. like dude say above its way more expensive. back in 99 when i got mine it was 60 for the plane, 30 for instructer. which is basically 90 per hour, the first 40 you must have an instructor, and a min of 50 to take the exam. plus all the other bs equipment u gotta buy, so you're looking at a minimum of 5-6k and that was a decade ago. good thing is that after you get rid of the instructor, u cut the price about half or less because u and another pilot can share the plane to log hours for additional liscenses.

eveything u said was just about right except that. the landing part. thats like saying i went out to the lot an got circles the first time out.
No way in hell you landed a small plane first time out especially at 14 with no experience. no need to bs us.

One of the guys here in Flarida is a pilot and told us he kinda has to be real carefull not to wreck or hurt his head in anyway with the Paramedics reporting it, cause it goes straight in his record and if there is any record of him losing conciousness for a second he can be grounded for good. Thats why he has said in the past if he's knocked out just give him time to regain himself and dont call anyone. Kinda leaves the rest of us in a scary situation if anything ever did happen. I think he's slowed down his real risky tricks now though.

No need to bs you. Go take a pilots lesson yourself. They give you minimal instructions and put you in the plane and have you fly it. They are sitting right there, if anything goes wrong they can take control, and of course they walk you through every little step on the mic.
Often times if your seriously interested in learning to fly, they don't even make you pay for your first lesson. They want to get you in the air and show you whats flying about to get you to pay for more lessons
