I have some shinkos on now, and they are not bad. Pilot Powers and Qualifiers did not last that long for me on the road so I have not used them in the lot yet.

anybody got some input to throw in on avon tires?? front and rear. i'm getting tires tomorrow so i need to know asap!

avon storm in particular i know that's what nick and ernie run but i want to make sure the front isn't a tire thats only for nick and ernie level riders

 

i dont think id ever want to consider a pilot power a good stunt tire. they are too triangular shaped. good for what i do, not so much for stunting though. I think the qualifier would make a good one due to its stickyness and its shape. they arnt the cheapest though.

If you don't stunt.....don't put in your opinion in a stunt tire thread....it's common sense.

 

the rear pilot power is shaped like /\, im just going from my experience and the way the 2ct are shaped they drop into a turn easily. they dont do to hot in a straight line as in they dip side to side.

im not a stunter. i dont claim to be. but i can clutch up in second and ride it for a while.

 

pilot road was 1 of the longer lasting tires I've used, other wise a patched up a free one from the pile at the dealer.

 

i know about the cone shape....it trips me out every time i put a new one on....but it breaks in pretty quick.....and when you're dipping circles (not me) there's nothing wrong with being able to lean it hard.

the point is pilot's are grippy *** tires that have an awesome shape to them....that's why people like them for stunting.

i heart my 2ct's.....i'm just not rich enough to go through tires that quick so i need something else that's just as grippy but lasts longer.

 

I think it's either grippy with short life or hard and long lasting, sure there's gotta be something in between. Which it is is the ? The best of both worlds.

your a little off. . . do a rolling burnout w ith a pilot power and try to break another one free after you wont that tire gets hot and sticky. tires like the pilot road and tires with the same type of hard compound will be easier to spin and last longer but not as sticky there is a huge difference

pilot power front for sure all the time and i run whatever funny take off i can get and patch. . .

anything from race take offs to 190/180/170

the storm i think it is is like the pilot road hard compound thats made for "touring" so it last a long time as a rear
