Pit Bikes Banned?!?!?

I know this is a re-post, But I cant find the old one........

So I heard a rumor a while back but I cant find it now..... Is it true that all pit bikes and parts are completely banned from being sold in shops and dealerships?

And if it is, can you direct me to an article about it or something?

Thanks

-Jesse
