Buying my first 636 but a ?
Ok I'm going to be picking a 636 up for 2500 
but this is my first time ever buying a bike off of someone......my question is how do I run the vin to see if it is clean before I get the bike? Also what would be the next step in this process 
help me out on this

ok now the funny thing is that after I asked him questions about the bike he was like ill call you back...... now I'm wondering if something is fishy

i think there is a web site that you put the vin into n it will tell you the history of the bike if its been in accidents.... but if the guy has the title then the bike is clean

ask for a bill of sale along with it.
you can type it up and have him sign it too if you want.
Example: Mr. Dumb *** sells 2003 Kawasucki 636 to Mr. Pole smoker on 4/20/09. SOld as is no warantee.
or whatever u want to say. thats how ive done it in the past and its paid off the check the vin first and have a bill of sale. i wouldnt list the value on the bill of sale just incase.

i don't know how accurate that site is. my brother got his bike stolen a few years back and i typed the vin to see if it was still considered stolen and it didn't say it was.

damn thanks for the heads up. i ran my old vin (stolen) and it came up stolen. then i ran my current bike (clean) and it came up clean. Anyone else get an inaccurate vin check???
